My local Sainsburys has the original, it goes out pretty quick mind but restocking seems regular... Seems my area has an appetite for it...

It's also an excellent op to take advantage of exports...

RedLeg original is still on the Tesco Extra shelves here in SW Wales, but there has been major disruption to the display during the last 2 months, when I have sometimes had to buy mine (sometimes more cheaply) from Amazon (Prime). Interestingly, Tesco has always had a few Pineapple left on the shelf - it doesn't seem to sell well here. The shortage of RedLeg original you witnessed is hopefully temporary and doubtless to do with the distribution restucturing. Much of the stock originally held at our sole distributor Hi Spirits has gradually been removed and transferred to the new bulk distribution channel to be managed directly from Distil Plc from 1 October. The disruption has caused a heavy financial hit this year. Hi Spirits will continue to handle business for the many smaller customers, but major customers like Tesco, Amazon and others will be supplied directly by our new strengthened BoD. This should markedly improve our margins. It was a problem for us that Hi Spirits (owned by Sazerac) was also a distributor for many other products which meant a lesser concentation on our business. The new distribution channel will hopefully be running smoothly in time for the xmas/new year trade and the next TU will presumably bring us up to date on progress.

I agree pope - very hard to believe (unfortunately) !
In this case, I'm just reporting what was said.
I do take note of chart technicals, but sometimes they defy common sense.

producing spirits is highly energy intensive business. I did some calc on how much it is per 1 bottle - as there is no easy avaiable data. all they publish is energy optimisations, CO2 targets etc...

then I calculated how much energy it takes to make vapour 1 l of water - twice - and decreased the number for alco (75 degrees Celsius - not 100 as it is for water)

any way I did stock up in a big way.

In case you missed it, Zak Mir on the Vox Market website on the 14 August was predicting DIS may reach 2.4p by the end of September. He is basing this on several technical points, which he explains. There's a lot of other stuff on the same broadcast, but you can jump through that if you want to.

My local Sainsburys had 2 full slots of red leg, a couple of days later only 2 bottles were left.. I guess people love it at £17 a bottle in the sale.. Same with Morrisons when it was £18, it soon sold out.

I can never understand why people not invested in a company take the time and effort to produce unsupported and unsubstantiated knocking copy.

It is interesting to note that, based on Diageo's report today, our BoD's decisions are definitely moving in the right direction. Diageo have managed to push through some price rises above inflation and the spirits sector is still growing strongly, despite a war, a pandemic, shipping hold-ups and glass and ingredient supply difficulties. They note a continuing trend away from beer and wine and towards spirits. Premiumisation also seems to be working. In 2020, Diageo bravely decided to invest in their brands and production facilities and it's paying off. Many of the comments in their report are reflected in our own plans. Proposed product range increases, a new and far more aggressive distribution policy, new state of the art production facilities in Scotland and enthusiastic backing from a much strengthened BoD. Early days for us, of course, and we are tiny compared to Diageo, but I look forward to seeing improvements in volume, revenue and bottom line as our plans fall into place during the remainder of the current financial year.

For those interested, you can find a lot more sector background on The Spirits Business.

Red Leg on special at £17 in my Sainsburys at the moment seems to sit quite comfortably amongst other brands.
