Explanation for what? it’s in the text CA but I can spell it out.Distil has failed to increase market share for all of their brands bar Redleg original, which has increased volume due to lockdown restrictions with pubs and bars been closed.
The new launch of Redleg Pineapple is not available in Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Asda,co-op,m&s,Aldi,Lidl any off licence I have been in. Available direct on Amazon of the old stock bottles.
Banana Rum is like rocking horse dung!
Marketing departments are primarily employed to increase revenue and brand awareness, not really happened, the Redleg was available luckily by the big supermarkets before lockdown and grew volume sales due to the lockdown, not the marketing

Ok Daz, now that you've bailed (along with Jane) can you explain your post 9329 to me please.

Nothing about it makes sense to me!

Pineapple and Banana not available in most of the large retailers before the biggest sale of alcohol in the history of off trade next week
All other brands as good as failed in revenue growth(except RLeg original)

More spent on marketing as a %of revenue than Diageo
Well done marketing👏👏👏

Excellent question Berny - I confess, I hadn't bothered to look, especially as one of the Distil reports actually said that Distil only has one customer, this implies Hi-Spirits, their distributor. I'll see what I can dig up.

Great research Berny3. A good spread of interest. Also implies that our own distributor has universal control and we do not grant exclusive rights to anyone else in any single country.

Daz the banana is the second largest fruit sale in the world tomatoe being the first
Sales of banana in the USA are very ne'er on par with tomatoes
and top spot in the carabean
rum infused with ginger is a very nice drink
Bacardi has been top dog in the coconut flavour spirit
And regarding marketing it would be the hardest act to follow

haggis - thats true, I was referring to an order within the market specifically, as the c.2M purchase the other day attracted that kind of speculation.

Sure, if he's buying outside of the market we would not know.

Daz...hope you enjoyed the drink.

Had a 1st bottle of the pineapple rum today from Amazon.
The old branding with the yellow/black top, not the green new branding? If it’s 2nd best seller they must have had quite a large stock of the old branding available. Personally I like the bottle design but as a marketing company building brands, selling your last designs to new consumers is not great long term business, but obviously a lot more profitable short term.

"Not sure if Roland Grain is done buying or not. I suspect he may have finished for now. MM's don't seem to have a buy order in.".They didn't have a buy order in when RG bought a huge chunk from HR did they?.It's quite possible that RG is bypassing the MM's and going direct to big holders to acquire another big chunk, the MM's wouldn't have a clue until the trade hit the wire.

Thanks Berny.

A very wide spread....which will tighten as the stock comes into play.

Things can change very quickly (including volume).

There have been times in the past when the spread here has been pretty tight. It will close as trading increases.

CFEP 1.40-1.90
PEEL 1.50-1.80
WINS 1.50-1.80
JBER 1.60-2.10
SCAP 1.50-1.80

Note: PEEL and WINS are the MM's that do the largest amount of volume. A tail spread of 1.40 - 2.10 illustrates that the market is indifferent and there is no expectations of good or bad news.

I would anticipate that as we move into January if nothing changes from now you will see the tail spread narrow. I would not be surprised to see this tick lower (1.5) with only JBER holding the bid at 1.60. There is a fair amount of support at 1.50 - 1.80

Once again. If you are concerned. Perhaps the best thing you could do is to go 'route 1' and contact him.
