Inline with historic trading patterns, the spread here will tighten up as this becomes more competitive and frequently traded. That will occur.

DIS could be a good wildcard bet for a top riser in 2021.

I certainly think it's going to be more eventful than in previous years, especially given RG's existing privately owned global drinks interests and the fact that he has just taken his first major slice of a PLC and become a member of the BOD.

I think we can expect not only strong organic growth led by Redleg but also NPD news and perhaps even some M&A activity.

Case sales figures are hard to come by, all we know is that the Rum is growing strongly. But a bit of consumer market research is easily conducted and it's not difficult to get a sense of 'real world' sales. You just need to ask the right people, the right questions in the right way.

Should push to the breakout range 2.5p without too much trouble when 2.1p is breached.

The issue is getting volume.

If you hadn't guessed, I'm very happy to take up the slack if anyone wants out.

Good to see a little uplift here although I have been trying to buy more volume and am not entirely satisfied that I hold enough.

Very happy Roland Grain is joining the BOD.

It will be interesting to see what influence he is able to impart and with a 20% stake you would think he is going to be fairly active in driving DIS onwards and upwards.

Our next trading update is just around the corner. I wonder if Grain's interest in the business will be expanded upon and what we might be able to expect going forwards.

Looking for these to move up over the coming weeks and to establish a new trading range.

3p+ as a new base minimum is what I envisage in the immediate/near term and moving onwards from there.

JK just to help you with your maths 3*100,000 = 300,000

3,000,000 / 100,000 = 30

It is only a minor point.

I would also say that brokers don’t set prices in the market nor do they Match buyers with sellers.

Again only a minor point but I think you might be getting Brokers and market makers confused.

You have an interesting anaylsis on the price rise yesterday and today stating the price has risen because of a large sell.

Morning daz the important part of the share price is the bid
The brokers set the prices to cover the future market
Thus far dis has had a fairly decent spread but then you get people with large holdings make it known they will take a profit and try to sell
(Sell /buy orders)
All people with large Aim holdings come up with the problem of brokers not having buyers for their stock computer algorithms now control this problem we’ve all experienced trying to sell online and up comes the dreaded message “not able to trade this time “ so instead of selling 3000000 in one go you divide your sell online price to 1/3rd 3x 100000 and your trades sell the bid then drops
Like why’s the offer rises and the rise on the offer looks tempting to buyers
So they widen the spread in this case we could see a large sell today or next Tuesday
The bid has moved up so we have buy orders

Been buying recently on average gipps so spread is only an issue if you want to lose or make a quick buck, but the company is going places now over the long term(if a buyout doesn’t happen)GL

1.6 on the bid 1.9 offer 18.66% spreads not a good sign need a big buy order to be filled tomorrow to justify ridiculous bid offer

Looks like someone has asked his broker to find a buyer for a few hundreds of thousand

Maybe he read my posts from earlier this year, stating that the DIS core strategy is to build and then sell brands, as this is where shareholders get returns, however, DG has been on the DIS board for over 10 years, in control for nearly 10 years, but has not sold a single brand in all that time!!
.
DG - "Joined the Distil Board mid 2010 as Non-Executive Director moving to Non-Executive Chairman in February 2011 and Executive Chairman in November 2011."
.
What is the point of stating your strategy in investor presentations is "building and selling brands" if you NEVER sell any?
.
Maybe RG will push DG to sell RedLeg or Blackwoods, and with the big bucks they get, give the shareholders a special dividend to keep them happy and repay their long term support for the company, as that is what many shareholders have been waiting patiently for. RG could get most if not all of his investment back in one hit, and still hold 20% of the company.

I doubt it waterloo01.

He has spend x amount on acquiring 20% of the business.

It's well within his interests to get this moving up and thriving.

Should be welcome news to the long term holders here.

all in my opinion.

I think there could be a further statement in early January, after he has officially been appointed and perhaps with the trading update.

We might get a statement of intent then.

Welcome aboard Roland - if you're reading.

Hoping you might grab this by the scruff of the neck and shake things up.

Could be some shared synergies here.

I would think he wants exposure to the capital market, pete.

He doesn't have that yet.

I now very much doubt this will be taken private (imo).

It seems clearer to me that he wants to be a board member of a publicly listed company, with a significant % stake, where he can exercise influence and grow a significant business.

DIS may be the thread he needs to tie his other private interests together and so produce a larger entity capable of growing, with access to capital when needed.

He is clearly an ambitious person.

I don't know for sure, but 'feel' this is all a very good development. He might have some pretty sizeable ambitions.

Why Manly? ELLC is a lot closer. It has a master distiller (remember recent appointment note) and a distillery.

RG isn't involved in any other publicly quoted company, only private companies. Will a merger/acquisition result in a new public company or will Distil also be taken private?
Time will tell.

This is a good development today.

Look at his success rate.

He's a 'busy' individual.

And with a 20% interest in a PLC I can see a lot of progress being made in 2021. Certainly he will be motivated to make it happen. How many shares has DG got?

I suspect a merger with Manly Spirits could be on the cards. The brands are a good fit for each other.

To have RG on board is to definitely strengthen, not weaken the BOD.
