The Mardi Gras Trademark history as it concerns Distil Plc is a bit complicated because Distil acquired the marks from third parties and the TM registrations take priority from much earlier filings by those others.

However the upshot is that without any doubt Distil Plc owns the rights to the Mardi Gras trademark in Class 33 in Europe and USA. It also owns 2 registrations in the UK.

Pete, ADVFN is just a data download it is not that sophisticated.

Nothing is shown on my data feeds for that trade. It is likely it was an off exchange trade.

I still don't understand how the millions can be stated as appearing on advfn but not on the official site at LSE as posted above.

The Benefits of having a Registered Trademark

If you don't register your trade mark, then someone else can. This immediately puts your business and any product or service development you are undertaking at risk. Securing a registered trademark protects your brand, and provides you with the tools to prevent someone using similar signs and riding off the back of your business. On second thoughts, doubtful that the Mardi Gras trademark is for a tequila - some simple googling, if you think slightly outside of the box, answers this.

I believe he was once long here. Maybe he is buying.

I'm not sure if DIS have done a Mardi Gras deal as you set out.

I'm actually rather confused that the trademark is still mentioned in more recent RNS' as I thought it was long forgotten about.

Looking at this....it must have been 10 years+ since DIS first mentioned that they wanted to produce a Mardi Gras drink?? And wasn't that for a Rum?

Since then we launched RedLeg, so I assumed any interest in the Mardi Gras trademark was obsolete??

Anyway definitely a 1.95M buy yesterday near the closing bell....possibly a worked deal. Hope you've since all seen it. £36K's worth.

I'm a new poster here but am a long-term shareholder (since 2013).

Regarding the Mardi Gras trademark for "Goods and Services Alcoholic beverages, except beer; Distilled spirits; Rum; Schnapps" I wonder if in 2018 Distil may have made a brand acquisition on the down-low.

I came across the Mardi Gras™ Vodka Schnapps 700 mL (choco mint and mango orange varieties) made by Tanduay which is headquartered in the Philippines and is part of LT Group. This brand does not appear on Tanduay's website and the product distribution seems to have gone cold.

There is a promotional video from 2012 just search "mardi gras vodka schnapps".

I do not recall anyone bringing this up before so I apologise if I am repeating previous speculation. This brand/product seems a good match for this elusive 'Mardi Gras' trademark and would fit the Distil buy and build strategy well. I could be totally wrong though.

I would appreciate hearing opinions and maybe stimulating further research on this matter.

Ronald Grain normally buys in tidy numbers but I see no reason not to suspect the buy was his. I'm sure brokers are aware he is there to hoover up spare stock.

Maybe RG heading towards the 30%, could pick up some cheap stock this week and next, someone sold 4K this morning for example
At this rate the offer will be 2p a share, need another interested party to get involved and get the holders a fair price of 10p🤞
