Miata and forfaiter seem to have made realistic assessments of the results.

makes you wonder what Danka's share price would be if it was only quoted in the UK. With 3 months eps running at 3.2p (full year say 10p).... we would be looking at a much much higher share price. Alas, we are in the hands of Danky traders.

ok i see.

however, all the other estimates they have stated are in fact in line or currently outperforming. eg margins, cost cutting, debt reduction, eps etc.

I must admit it is odd...I have never known such a difference between the two accounts before...so what has changed ?

Unfortunately the stock is led by the US which means you are looking at a headline EPS of 8c for the year......I can't see the yanks buying that especially when GISX and IKN are looking at circa $1.50 and 96c for the year...but you never know...

However the UK acounts are strong with an impressive EPS and a Pre Tax profit of £5m which is very positive....cash flow and margins are great...so if they can stabilise the revenue base and then start to grow it then the stock is cheap...

The MM moved the stock to the upper trend channel at 52/53p which was a clever move as it left the trader undecided whether to take profits or wait and see if the US pushed it higher after the UK close....I decided to take profits but I wasn't convinced I had done the right trade at the time.....as the MACD and RSI are rising and the parabolic indicator shows a change in trend......very tricky call....in a strong market I would have let the position run..

The disparity between the accounts has clouded the situation and makes it very difficult to call in the short term......but a break out of 52/53p is positive for a move back to 62/67p.....a further move down in the US next week could mean a continuation of the downtrend with support at 32p....

lets get some things straight :

Beeson have said this (13 June 2002) :

"We expect one more year of revenue decline as implementation of the new business model is completed, the a return to growth. Even so, this year, with gross margins continuing to rise and costs again top sliced, should see a strong move back into the black"

so revenue decline was expected.

Also, ff you stated Q1 revenue was lower than Beeson had forecasted, can you please state what Beeson had predicted and where this is (page no. ?) in the report

thanks

What's All the Complaining About??

Sure we finished near the low of the day. Sure we were down $.33 from the top. But what are we complaining about? We finished up $.18 from yesterday. We stayed over the important $2.90 level. Heck, this was the only stock showing green in my portfolio today.

As I said in an earlier message, the real test will come next week. A nice gradual push over the 50 day MA will be a great way to start a new rally. But watch that $2.90 level. If we drop much below that, we could go all the way back to $2.60 easily. Looks like we may need another quarter or two before people start to believe in this stock. Also a more stable overall market wouldn't hurt either.

Have a nice weekend and good luck!

Still cannot quite get my head round the massive difference in EPS UK @ 3.2p and EPS US @ 2c. The UK figure is 10 times the US figure. Would explain the totally different market reactions with the UK close at 52*4*1.5695=326.46c as opposed to 292c close in US

Friendly little reminder

Looking at the slight premiums being paid by the MMs over the past few days, it would not surprise me to see a little tree shaking, coz they're short of stock. They played this game earlier this year and people bailed out (price dropped by 9p from memory), only recover and be 1p ahead even. I'm not saying this will happen in such a dramatic fashion this time. I'm only posting this because of new investers/punters could get caught out. Long serving posters will remember the events that I refer to. Just keep long and strong IMHO.

Happy trading :0)

From the way it behaved today, I wouldn't buy it Monday morning. The last time it peaked above the 50-day MA and reversed was on the 30th May, before a drop back to support again. Today looked like a similar reversal, but then yesterday looked like one too and I was wrong.

To put you on the spot s.k would you be a buyer of this stock on monday morning considering the price to re-align with danky at around 49/47p ? or would you wait?.

Yes, the 50-day MA looks to be around $3.07. A close above $3 would have been good IMHO as it was a support level in May and June and so is now acting as resistance. It's a shame it couldn't hold the gains today and closed very near to the low again. Not necessarily bad news but not particularly inspiring either.

Looking at the chart and the fairly low volume today, I wouldn't be surprised if it dropped back a bit on Monday, but I could be wrong. If it does, it may hit support at $2.75. I just think if the overall market was better this would have been off like a rocket.

All JMHO.
