ITT,It's just the regular amounts being sold down. 50k, 15k etc. it seems like it is a major holder and I seem to think we had something similar before the last placing, which wasn't too long ago.Hopefully I am way off the mark. Regards.

A while ago, I contacted both of our brokers (Zeus and Strand Hanson) but neither had the courtesy to reply. Very poor IMO but doesn't surprise me at all.

There can't be another placing, so soon can there?

Spoke too soon. Thought that might happen. So much for moving up, something that is now just a distant memory.

So far today, despite what look like lots of sells, the share price seems to be holding up. But we need it to be MOVING UP. And just out of interest, a hook-up between Airtel (Bharti Airtel?) and Adani has been mentioned elsewhere. Given that Adani is part of our partner ecosystem, is Airtel a competitor or a potential partner? Can anyone clarify?

At home, we're halfway through watching the 1982 film Gandhi. No mention of smart meters as yet but we're enjoying it all the same.

All sounds very interesting TF. As far as CC is concerned, I just feel that the company does not market itself effectively enough to prospective investors. And existing investors have to wait far too long between reports to find out how things are progressing, especially irritating, for me at least, when order news has slowed to a crawl. I would like to hear how our ROW orders are getting on. What on earth is the state of play in Thailand? Has that order now been installed and, if so, are prospects for the rest of the MEA still good or have they gone elsewhere? I understood that in India a certain proportion of the awards had to be got moving within a fairly short time-frame. If so, orders should be imminent. But we've been saying that for a long time now. I thought that the Intellismart SFA was designed to speed up the move from the award to orders. Doesn't seem to be happening. All very frustrating.

Hi DTB, we have visited Delhi, Agra area, Kerala state, and soon we will be in central Mumbai. I have been invested in Cyan since (the Cyanide days on) the day of the AIM IPO - 2008? I only know of Beeez who has been invested longer, starting as a private equity investor.
.
I have never encountered anything close to the Indian glacial pace ANYWHERE anywhere else on the planet. In fairness, I have no experience of Thailand, Brasil wasnt speedy, it also has a strong multi-state structure.

Just out of interest TF, where in the country did you visit? So many interesting sights to see. As for patience, to be fair to most of the regulars on here, I think we have demonstrated out patience many times over, but I do get your point. The question is, do ALL the territories we operate in outside of Indian work on 'India time'?

The MVVNL tender outcome is on row 42, but I am not sure how soon this will translate into supply sub-contracts, except that it often seems to take around 6 months for established players to conclude contracts - newish entrants such as Montecarlo are quicker out of the blocks?
.
As for visiting India, it is pure leisure nowadays - business trips here are in the past. The emerging power is enormous, but has glacial pace - so much bureaucracy, so many interests and conflicting views to reconcile.
.
IMHO don’t loose patience with Cyan! tightfist

Hi TF. Business trip or holiday? Never been to India but I find it an intriguing country, a mix of the exotic, the ancient, and now, the modern. There is something very likeable about the Indian people, their capacity for resilience and their ability to cope with the extreme contrast between great wealth and incredible poverty. Saw a program a while back about the gold scavengers in the slums. Despite the appalling squalor the characters were incredibly upbeat and positive. Quite inspiring I have to say. As a country, its scale can probably only be appreciated by being there. If you happen to see JC out there, tell him to get a move on with the orders.

Replace the “hxxps” with “https” to make the link wotk
“We are delighted to share that @MVVNLHQ has signed a contract with @Intelli_Smart for the deployment of 28 lakh #smartmeters within the areas under MVVNL's jurisdiction.”

Is this just confirmation of a previously announced tender award? IIUC it covers at least part of the tender that was initially awarded to Adani and then cancelled? But I may well have that wrong - I need to compile a list of awarded tenders - or maybe someone else already has one?

I am away in India at present, I thought this Smart Meter status article is useful, though obviously slanted towards Cellular - however, the “Availability of pervasive networks, is recognised as an issue towards the bottom:

And there was me thinking you were one of the high rollers ITT! Anyway, I'm sure, like me, you're probably pretty fully invested here. Let's hope it pays off very soon. Have a good weekend. I'm looking forward to the rugby from Cardiff this afternoon.

Hi DTB

Not guilty.

My monthly SIPP contributions don't stretch to £3K - I live in Mid Wales, not London.

Didn't hang around waiting for the pennies to land in my AJ Bell A/C - opted for a walk instead and we were then in the pub at 5:30pm, lovely it was too.

Have a fun weekend.

I don’t mind a bit of a retreat?
We have been retreating for years
I am personally sick to death of retreating
This company is run on promises and my patience is wearing a bit thin.

From a personal point of view, I don't mind a bit of a retreat in SP, as my monthly SIPP contributions take a couple of days to clear in my A J Bell account. I should be able to add a few more this afternoon for 5% less than I would have if my bank/broker weren't effing about with my money.

What a boring day. Few trades, fewer comments. Given the number of territories we operate in, as well as the ones we hope to operate in, one would have thought that news of orders would be a bit less thin on the ground. I know we had a trading update in mid-December and only six weeks have elapsed, but in the absence of any new orders to report, perhaps a progress report would be helpful. The stuff posted on X is all very well but absolutely useless for those of us who are Luddites and not on X. I would also still like to know why Ajoy's entry on the India Team section of the website has disappeared. I could never entirely work out the difference in remit between him and Rahul Das. Whatever. Back to sleep now.

IMO, they've had plenty of time to get all of their ducks in a row, that's why directors are paid the decent salaries that they are in fact paid.

They haven't been striving to get here for all these years only to say now that this opportunity is too big for us. It's all in hand.

Not sure they have capacity to deal with impending deluge of orders which leads me to conclude takover highly likely. Either way share price will be considerably higher than it currently stands.
