No. The heat provides the energy needed for the process. The catalyst is the substance which lowers the energy barrier to the reaction and allows it to take place with less energy and faster. In a test-tube, starch can be broken down, slowly, into simple sugars by boiling it with dilute acid. In the mouth it takes place at body temperature by the action of an enzyme, a biological catalyst, in saliva. And fast. Unlike the rate of business progress in a country we won't name.

It's like being lost in space. Just utter emptiness. Few trades, fewer (zero) comments. Although, as I said before, the weekend mid-price which was listed as 12.20p for some reason should probably have been 11.875p, which would have actually given us a small rise yesterday of 0.125p. Clutching at straws, I know, but apart from twiddling our thumbs, not much else to do.

Odd how the closing price is listed as 12.20p but the spread is 11.50/12.25. Late, late trade still to come?

Can't help feeling that, if only as a courtesy to the LTIs, the company should provide an update on current progress. How are the rollouts of the earlier orders (for Intellismart, Genus and Montecarlo) getting on. Presumably pretty well if Montecarlo have come back for seconds. But it would be nice to get a bit more detail. That said, the comments at the end of the two order announcements this year so far have been very positive about future collaboration, so that has to be a positive. And I suppose we are only about seven weeks into 2024.

'HPL Electric and Power Ltd shares surged 10% on Tuesday, February 13, after the company announced it had received an order worth ₹181 crore to supply smart meters.
In a stock exchange filing, the Noida-based electric equipment manufacturer said it has received an order worth ₹181 crore (including taxes) from a leading Advanced Metering Infrastructure Service Provider (AMISP) client.
As per the terms and conditions of the Letter of Award (LoA) secured by HPL Electric and Power, the company will supply smart meters to the leading AMISP client in the normal course of business.'

'HPL Electric is targeting almost 25-30% of the total demand for smart meters in India. This falls in line with the Centre's ambitious target of installing 250 million smart meters across the country, in order to reduce transmission losses in electricity.'
