Another nibble for me this morning (2 x 5,000 shares - don't ask!).

100,000 shares in my Dealing Account at an average of just under 10p, ready to plonk in my 24/25 ISA on 06/04/24. Tidy.

With the obvious orders newsflow imminent from India I am surprised we are not trading around recent highs. Anyone care to comments on orders/revenue expected from the rest of the world that are not factored in here as focus is primarily India. This could be a significant bonus.

Good to hear your views NTG, so thanks for that. I have to say I am not interested in a bid, near-term; once we have moved significantly higher then bring it on, but we have just got to what could be a tipping point and I would like to see the company really capitalising on its potential before any corporate shenanigans. I also think that ITT's point about our highest to date value being £56m giving a current share price of 17p suggests that if we were to get a couple of the large SFAs you have listed, the share price would move well past some of the values you have suggested. Multi's view that we could see a price of £1+ is closer to the mark as far as I am concerned. Given the size of the market, the scale of the awards that we have been hearing about and our share of the market to date, suggests to me that your predictions are on the modest side. Just my opinion though and, like the others, I am very grateful for your thoughts. As ever, I shall log on tomorrow in a state of the usual anticipation. One day, hopefully, my hopes will be realised.

To try and answer a few queries from earlier : -

1. JC average share price - I estimate it to be circa 15p - 20p. This could be substantially lower however in the event his options etc kick in with a takeover approach.

2. Would it make sense for a few more orders to be in place first before a takeover is launched - Yes, definitely in my book. The pipeline needs to more proven first for an acquirer to have complete faith going forward plus an acquisitor needs the share price a little higher from here to give the BoD little option but to recommend its offer as acceptable.

3. Management won't accept a "lowball" offer - this is complete rubbish in my opinion - JC will have to look at any offer on behalf of his BoD and his shareholders and make a decision based on what is best for the owners of the company ie the shareholders and then if necessary they will vote on it.

Therefore my guess is that a few more orders will be placed with us in the very near term (sorry!) and then an offer for the company will be made.

How on earth is JC going to be able to not recommend an offer of 100% premium to the previous days closing price after say a 100% rise on a couple more orders RNS,s beforehand!? Say 40p offer.

He would have to have an incredible defence to not accept something like that which he will not have imo.

My guess is therefore that a takeover will come in after a sequence of events similar to the below takes place: -

1. Another larger SFA is granted with Intellismart.
2. A new SFA will come in with someone like Genus or MonteCarlo.
3. 2 to 3 more 1 m size orders will come in.
4. The share price will rally to about 20p - 25p (previous highs).
5. A bid will be made very quickly (overnight) for circa £150 m/c for the Indian side of the business ie in the region of 40p.
6. BoD will recommend it.

JC will also then be given a non exec position on the acquirers BoD.

If you were one of the large Indian players would you let CyanConnode stay independent once it has a proven pipeline!?

Plus JC,s objective has always been to sell the company once it has reached a certain stage, its just taken a whole lot longer than he (or any of us) ever thought it would!

The Power sector in India is phasing a dynamic shift to smart technology and in this transition emphasis is on last-mile connectivity with a focus on evolving applications in distribution generation and power automation. One company at the forefront of this transformative journey is CyanConnode, a leader in narrow-band RF technology. With an unwavering commitment to adherence to protocols, industry standards, and collaboration, CyanConnode is making significant strides in the smart metering sector, boasting a substantial market share. Key representatives of the company, Aniruddha Vaidya (Shahpure), and Parthasarathi Krishnan, speak on the current trends and innovations at Distribuelec in talks with the EPR Magazine.

So far, touch wood, share price holding up pretty well after that bout of selling. Someone picking them up? We could do with a big SFA or two from the big players and some orders. Given the number of awards over the past few months, we must be very close to the point where companies at our stage of the supply chain are going to be announced. Tomorrow would be good. I actually think that 50p near term is probably perfectly achievable, if not more. Just my opinion of course. Fingers crossed.

Re takeover - would it make sense for an acquirer to do it once more contracts are 'in the bag' first even if the market cap is higher?

I have also been saying for quite a while that Cyan will be taken over. It simply makes sense if they grab a decent chunk of the smart metering action in India a larger company will want them, and at current market cap we are very venerable. EE has made the point on the other board that just because that may not be convenient for shareholders/directors of the company that it won't happen. I hope we get some proper shareprice traction, at least to around 30p before any bid action starts. Like many have said, we have really earnt a profit here after so many years.

I take it you meant 'we DON'T want to be sold on the cheap'. It was always said in the past that JC's target was to turn it into a £200m company, but, given the potential now, that figure must surely be far higher. I suspect that the current move up is down to imminent significant orders about to be announced. I hope so.

I see Emptyend also thinks so too this morning, someone who’s opinion i respect completely amongst the remaining dross!
