16/11/2015 22:42 | A research firm has been instructed to setup focus groups on all manner of chicken consumption, so it might perhaps be Crawshaws as we have the biggest rotisserie ovens in the country. The research is about cooked chicken (all types of cooked chicken and cooked chicken products you can buy e.g. cooked cold chicken, chicken snacks, rotisserie chicken etc). The research is taking place in the following areas - York, Leeds, Manchester, Brighton, St Albans, Watford, London and the South/South-East. If anyone is interested in going along I’ll happily post their contact details, but suspect we shareholders would not be considered impartial. | ![]() playful

12/11/2015 23:23 | A response from our company - Most commendable: Thank you for the information Paul. On investigation we can confirm the store staff lost track of the time and no offence was intended by any member of the team. We have made a donation to the poppy appeal and will put a sign in the shop window to this effect to inform people. Regards Crawshaws | ![]() playful
12/11/2015 14:13 | Mansfield born and bred. Nothing a donation of the Stores profits from yesterday to the Poppy appeal or The Legion wouldn't sort. | pj 1
12/11/2015 08:02 | Shame we could not bring back hanging, I'm sure members of staff would keep quite then | ![]() mr hangman
11/11/2015 22:21 | It's reached the company FB page now: I'm not sure if you are aware about the frenzy on the Mansfield uncovered website regarding a young man stood outside the Mansfield store on Remembrance Day. unfortunately the manager did not observe the 2 minutes silence as a store and has obviously let your company down but moreover he let the young man outside down, doing the usual market stall style shouting that seems to be part of your portfolio. unfortunately he did not observe the 2 minutes silence because he would not have known the time and B and only a young man may not even know the importance of the day . I do feel he has been unnecessarily targeted by members of the public both at the time and during the Mansfield uncovered postings and, whilst he has had to defend himself because Mansfield is quite a small place, it is unfair that he has been left to do so and hung out to dry by the manager and the store, indeed, if not the company . I'm writing this message publicly because this is the only way we will do something to make changes for the future. I'm sure your company would have observed the silence and will have communicated such to the managers , if you didnt shame but if you did then shame on the manager but the young man should not lose his job or his reputation because of your failings. You may read and delete this post and you may ask me to take it down which I will gladly do once you have understood its meaning. I have nothing to do with either the store any of the staff or the young man in question but I do feel strongly and if nothing is done by way of an apology then this young man will suffer unnecessarily and that will be a crying shame as it looks like he may be someone who needs a step in the right direction . so let's set the Wheels in Motion to put this right and maybe you can keep your reputation intact and your Mansfield store open because it looks very much at this stage as though somebody May take things too far and some people are going to boycott the store already. Yours concerned Paul Wolfie Pengelly | ![]() playful
11/11/2015 22:16 | Could be turned into positive publicity if it was played right. | battlebus2
11/11/2015 21:47 | Poor chap, just unfortunate. Clearly an error, some people however get a kick out of being outraged. I'm sure there have already been apologies. | ![]() hydrus
11/11/2015 21:26 | Certainly got a reaction, just see the comments To be honest the manager should have realised and stopped him. I agree something in the window tomorrow would be appropriate. | ![]() playful
11/11/2015 21:21 | That's terrible playful, probably needs an apology in the shop window or something similar. | battlebus2
11/11/2015 21:08 | Is there a story about that anywhere? Sounds like a storm in a teacup tbh I saw loads of people talking at 11am, they clearly just forgot | ![]() hydrus
11/11/2015 20:42 | Seems we have got ourselves into hot water in Mansfield with the young lad shouting through the two minutes silence today, apparently the shoppers became aggressive towards him. He obviously didn't realise the time so hope our management support him as he must feel terrible. | ![]() playful
10/11/2015 02:44 | Bury Crawshaws is now open... | ![]() davidosh
08/11/2015 22:02 | It looks like they have a good location in the centre and right alongside the TJ Hughes store and on the link through to the market... Then next week will be the opening of the Loughborough store nicely in time for the busy Christmas shopping period. I picked up this interesting use of local students to spread the word and key targets as customers... Crawshaws CALLING LOUGHBOROUGH STUDENTS! We are opening a store in Loughborough next month and are looking for a student to hand out leaflets on campus and put up posters to promote our vacancies with other students. This person will be our Loughborough University ‘Brand Ambassador’ and may be called upon in the coming months to help with recruitment, careers fairs, brand awareness etc. As well as paying for their work, we believe this is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious & motivated student to showcase themselves with a view to joining us into a graduate management position after Uni. | ![]() davidosh
