JM's other listed venture MFX looks like it is doing OK after all these years.

That's why it's important there's just one class of share. JM will want to realise the shareholding he has. If they don't have a special dividend post sale, JM and the other execs get very little. I can't realistically see a situation where all the cash is left locked up in the London listed top co. But - yes - understand the scepticism (completely).

....but what happens to the cash once it's in the company bank account ?

I can't see Jim just paying it out as a special dividend. More likely use it to 'buy' one of his other failed ventures.....

OG - scenario long term: I imagine a cash return to shareholders. What's left is a J.M. London listed shell. Luckily there is only one class of share so small investor interests are LARGELY aligned with that of the management (even JM's). But as you've said it's a subsidiary sale. So in my mind the question is... What percentage of the Nicaraguan asset sale value will be returned to the shareholders? Or, will a significant portion be held within the remaining "shell". I was also wondering what happened to the properties in El Salvador from all those years back. I've been out of this for a long time, but bought some today (with reservations) because I think there is some money to be made.

I think I can agree that CNR as a company is likely to have a positive surprise regarding asset sale price.

Nevertheless, as I wrote before, this will not have an enduring effect on the share price also after the sale. Maybe a few days of euphoria driven by retailers, but what is the scenario in the long term??

Of course the market cap does not matter, as we are talking about an asset deal which is unrelated to how the stock trades before or after the sale.

Worthy of note. I have corresponded with Mark this afternoon, as ever he keeps things very tight to his chest but it is worth saying, he doesn't seem to think the current market cap will have any influence whatsoever on the eventual sale price outcome, NONE. Read into that what you will.

This is very good news. I still hold a fair few of these but I’m no longer sure what my break-even is. I bought £50k’s worth in the open offer to bring my average down. That bet is looking in much better shape and can still be made for only a few pence more.

I’m fairly confident there will be a sale north of today’s price, it remains a question of when, for how much and how the proceeds will be returned to shareholders.

Hopefully it will start moving up now. We’ve seen it move up quickly in the past although not for a long time…

Wake up call for MiningLamp: Marky Mark is selling assets, not the company. You will not see anything of the money that will be paid for the assets

Given today's news I am surprised the share price has not risen further, it will happen now IMO as confidence builds that a decent offer will come through.

Mr Child suggested $100m-$200m for the company could be attained, that is a range of 40p-80p, the current price is 18p ?

Close to 300% for me, it will never happen Unless the Nicaraguan regime collapses. I drink to that that

Yea right. The sentiment on both boards seems to have u turned in the last 12 months. Initially this was one of pragmatism and optimism, it's now doom and gloom and constant snipes.

This RNS is effing fantastic and was completely what everyone was looking for.

Come in guys, up the Condor!

Worth noting my average is over 45p here. Maybe I'm being stupid at this point but anything that claws us back to my breakeven is to be celebrated - I need over 100% rise!
