17/2/2006 00:19 | hard work, I try to minimise it by keeping my holdings for one or two years, and reducing the CGT with BATR. | andy
17/2/2006 00:18 | walter, Thanks, you may have to pay more then, but of course you will have reduced your risk, the normal trade off between the two. What I like about CDE is their strategy of looking to buy into producers, or near producers, rather than pure exploration. CDE is a cash shell, but only until they can sign the deal, and with DD currently being done, and the deadline aproaching, I expect to hear something sooner rather than later. | andy
16/2/2006 23:37 | it's not possible to value this cash shell at the mo. the only thing you can go on is the value of the management and potential deals which looks rather impressive. I think I'll wait until AIM listing. good luck to LT holders walt | walter walcarpets
16/2/2006 21:14 | How do you guys deal with CGT? Do you take it as an inevitable cost of a successful investment, or gear your investments so as to minimise the liability, which would mean holding CDE for two years (?) | hard work
16/2/2006 20:05 | I bought CDE and ATI on the same day. Both up 74% for me in no time at all. Has anybody else looked at ATI it seems a bit deserted there in comparison. Good RNS today and some knowledgeable posers on board. Would love to know your thoughts on it Zengas and Tone Hab and others. Thanks for al your help | krutt
16/2/2006 19:59 | lol. I think there maybe a rally soon... interest certainly seems to be growing with this little tiddler :-) P.s thanks for your posts Zenga$ on other stocks and this one; invaluable !! When I sell VOG; i'll TT you some money if you want? Lee$on. Looking forward to EME tmrw and the next RNS on VOG. | leesonlookalike
16/2/2006 19:48 | mujahid2 read my post again. I said i intend to hold, ( but if Pamela Anderson were to approach me, she can have a 100ks worth for nothing). Potential for 24/25p Can't calculate anything unless we know the size of the deal - we know the potential field size they may be after, hence my reference to Chacos valuation. | zengas
16/2/2006 19:31 | Big 350k sell today. | papillon
16/2/2006 19:18 | ZENGAS whats your share price target? Would appreciate some assumption and calculations as you did on vog. Thanks again. p.s did you sell any stock to the approacher? BIG QUESTION IS what is your average share price on 600k ? | mujahid2
16/2/2006 19:13 | Price retraced just three quarters of a penny. Was approached earlier to see if i would sell some stock but intend to hold medium term at the very least. After all we are chasing fields up to 250mbo in total and the market cap is still low in anticipation if and when such a deal comes off. As a comparrison, Chacos market cap is circa £58.4m against £24.4m here (in the absence of a deal) at circa 13.75p. I believe this has the potential for much greater value as a result. Chaco raised £5m in late October in a farm-in deal on the 38m barrel Alea field with Repsol jv. | zengas
16/2/2006 18:40 | Yeah, I saw that. The chart, in my opinion, looks ready...... HIKE :-) | leesonlookalike
16/2/2006 16:42 | leeson, Cheers, nice little tick up at the end! | andy
16/2/2006 16:27 | Thanks for the posts..... | leesonlookalike
16/2/2006 15:36 | This one has more detail of the region. | andy
16/2/2006 15:30 | fromtheblue, Interesting article, thanks for posting it. Here's where Timan Pechora is geographically. | andy
16/2/2006 15:22 | Article today about Lukoil - refers to the Timan-Pechora basin - looks like there is a lot of oil there:- Lukoil also stands out among Russian oil companies for the geographical scope of its operations. The company is active in more than 30 countries. Nevertheless, Lukoil's success is still based primarily on its operations in Russia: --Its Russian operations are concentrated in Western Siberia, mainly in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug within Tyumen Oblast. However, these fields are relatively mature. --The company also produces in Perm Oblast, where its operations are yielding a mere 1 million tonnes per year. Lukoil's total reserves in this province amount to about 2 billion barrels. A more promising region is the Timan-Pechora basin in the north. The basin's proven reserves rose from 1.34 billion barrels to 3.89 billion barrels between 1999 and 2004. Production started in 2001, but exploration and development are complicated by the fierce climate and difficult geology. Moreover, the region is distant from both Russia's major oil-consuming regions and export terminals. | fromtheblue
16/2/2006 15:17 | ronwilkes123, Not yet, they have to finish the DD on Pechora Energy first, and the AIM listing will only come if they decide to proceed. The ticker, unfortunately, will not be CDE, as that is alredy taken by another company, so would have to be decided at the time, and will not be known in advance. IMHO as they knew they were going to transfer to AIM, they ought to have arranged a ticker that was not taken on BOTH, so as to avoid having a new one when they transfer. | andy
16/2/2006 15:14 | anyone know when these launch on AIM, and what the ticker will be | ronwilkes123
16/2/2006 15:12 | 2 weeks to go before exclusivity period expires; DD presumably well in hand (if there were any major issues such as ownership rights, presumably we'd know about these now); rising share price; investors presumably being tapped up as we speak - finish line rapidly approaching, but are we going to fall at the last, or streak home clear winners?? | hard work
16/2/2006 13:27 | asparks, LOL! Oil is now, renewables are in the future! I will make the switch at a later date, until then I'm happy carrying on making money in oil and gas stocks. GAS producers are the ones to watch, massive demand now, and it's a finite resource so prices won't be coming down in a hurry. ps Please don't spam other stocks on here, it's not BB ettiquette, thanks | andy

16/2/2006 11:16 | Andy: Re: post 354 Could you please tell me from where you got the list of the transactions table? I use very basic sites and none of them lists/shows CDE's daily buys and sells. | ppowerscourt
16/2/2006 10:30 | well, picked up a few extra ones on the dip this morning.....will patiently to see what life brings with these... regards, RoL >>>>---------------- | robin_of_loxley |
