drewz andy,

they went to ofex as aim changed the admission rules for mining and oil stocks. you need an asset now to go to aim. thats why the acquisition of pechora will be followed by the aim move.

they have had no problem raising funds when needed.

the shares were already a 4 bagger when the options were given to our top geologist now on board.

take a step back, iec raised £50m in 4 hours a few months ago and the share price rose on the fundraising as it was for value enhancing assets.

again look at the people involved, they state they want fields with 50-250m barrels . not minor fields.

i am here on a 12 month view as this has all the hall marks of an iec.

on aim they may consolidate the shares and there will be a fundraising to aid the purchase of pechora.

DREWZ,

Possibly, as not all the facts are currently known about the prospect Pechora Energy, so it may be prudent to wait until such time before making a balanced judgement IMO.

Fair point about raising money at low prices, but what do you do if you can't get it away at a higher price?

Once they make the decision to proceed, they will have to raise funds, but at the now higher price, so less dilution than would have been the case had the price stayed low.

And making an AIM application will lead to more liquidity in the stock in due course, and a higher price.

I personally thin it's too early to judge, but I do think this LOOKS like a chance to get in early in a company that will be producing oil and gas in the near future.

I'm not sure that this new venture has been launched as well as it might have been from the point of view of prospective shareholders.

Why were they not able to secure a NOMAD to achieve an AIM listing if their pedigree is as good as it looks to be?

As a result they have issued millions upon millions of penny shares on OFEX whilst hardly raising any worthwhile cash.

This is not a great problem for the director founders who were each able to buy 26 million shares for only £26k, but anyone else wanting to join the party now will only get one hundredth as many shares for the same money.

This hardly seems reasonable, since barely any progress has yet been made.

As noted, there is no cash in the bank sufficient to buy any oil & gas producing assets, once the current funds have been spent doing due dilligence on Pechora: cue more issuing of masses of cheap paper in order to buy Pechora.

We could have a scenario here where there are a billion penny shares in circulation to support only a very modest producing asset, severely constraining progress towards creating further substantial shareholder returns.

In short, they seem to have issued too many shares for too little money to get this venture off to a flying start.

Thus, the current £13m valuation hardly seems justified when they have no licences yet and no money with which to buy any.

Or am I being too critical?

Highlights:

Last month, Concorde signed a memorandum of understanding with Pechora, which owns the Luzskoye Field in the north-east of the Russian Federation. The company is also evaluating three further Russian oil and gas licences.

An AIM move usually provides a fillip to an OFEX company's share price and bulls argue Pechora and the other deals Concorde is contemplating should be seen as strongly value-enhancing. It could be worth a flutter.

Off-topic:
You remember COIL's previous incarnation. I was then a newby into oils.

Kirghizstan suffered the most during the Former Soviet's reform programme in turning the area to cotton farming. Thus the Aral Sea and Lake Baikal both disappeared. This significantly changed the landscape from the Central Asia I know from the histories before the first millennium. Ecologically, many of the inhabitants have died from poison/salt from the water and many are permanently ill until their water source can be restored to pure state again, there is no reverse to this tragic blunder. I guess that's why they need to use injection of water for treatment of their oil.

Kirghizstan is the least fortunate of the -stans.

I have held COIL since the start (up and down!). There is no comparison at this stage with CDE. The latter is aiming big. COIL is steady as she goes. I do think they are undervalued, but not by much until we get news of the water injection and the seismics. There is potential for 20-30m barrels which does indicate the upside, and there will/should be production from the water injection but that is at local prices, at a guess c$20 pb. Better than a poke with a big stick. The North Sea tie-in could be interesting but we will not know much about that until later this year.

The big disapointment is that Cambrian have only brought the one deal with Elko. I think people were hoping for more.

Time to buy some more CDE me thinks with this little drop. I also bought a few HEP yesterday. See how it goes.

No similarities, COIL is a bit of a dog's mess. Just association to get the speculators on board.

Some, over at the COIL board, compared COIL to CDE, saying they are similar. And that CDE holders took profit here to buy into COIL? What similarities? Maybe Wassapper can tell?

no it won't but but the money for the Pechora Energy deal i would imagine will come from a fund raising in march when we move to aim and some debt

Yes, it will be used for DD by Price Waterhouse, a Competent Persons Report (CPR) on the potential Pechora acquistion, and evaluation of further potential acquisitions which they have already identified.

Thanks Sranmal, Sorry moggey I'd missed that one!

That isn't going to acquire them any assets so will it be used for due dilligence etc?
