Long been that 90 something was mis-priced debt - eg market movement on credit spreads 80 something was distressed/risky but performing And when you get sub 80 insolvency/future non-performance/impairment is being priced in Amusingly you'll often see debt trading in the pennies and the equity retaining "value"

Cineworld's debt is unsustainable at current levels of revenues and admissions, which explains it's non-investment grade 'junk' status. Do not forget that debt is higher ranked than shareholders equity when it comes to administration. The problem is also that cineworld only made a profit after tax of around 5% of revenues in 2019. Pre covid the 2019 profit after tax was down significantly from 2018 to 2019 (from $284.3 million to $180.3 Million). The trend would most likely have continued without Covid, thanks to streaming.

I think you have to wait for closes before you get excited on prices because it can fly up and close flat as a witches tit

Will there ever be an after Covid ? or will it be like the flu, but worse ? Cineworld had a lot of debt after the Regal takeover, they have since taken on over $1 Billion of extra, mostly expensive, debt as a result of covid/coronavirus. There is a reason why the Cineworld/Regal bonds are non-investment grade i.e. 'Junk' status.

I think the city may be attempting to price stock after covid.

Borrowing money to pay expensive debt interest amongst other liabilities is never good longer term. The fact that cineworld borrowed another $200 Million in July 2021 gives an indication that things are not going well with achieving close to 2019 revenue levels. The current box office totals are also looking weak.

I've invested in these within the last week for a longer term play - reckon will double my money in five years and am prepared to wait it out - not bet the kitchen sink but enough to enjoy the profit

Small steps lead to better things, once 67.48p
is closed above next target 78p.
