How does this company ever survive with that debt mountain - no matter how busy they become , the debt charge will always obliterate . When debt matures , any renewal will be at more prohibitive coupon rate

Big loss, even bigger if you factor in the cares refund. They were basically out of cash.

Finance costs of 343m. 450m left, but half of that going to regal shareholders.

Selling into the close before results is not usually a positive indication of an upside surprise.

I doubt whether the share sale effected the profit (loss) number for AMC..
But it was smart move that raised cash.
They humour their crazy investors by accepting Bitcoin. Another bunch of nutters from the asylum nearby.

With CINE it will be about cash burn and debt.
If things get back to near normal and the big films are released there is hope.
Same with RR. IAG TUI SAGA and others. There will be casualties.
So many re opening stocks in similar positions.

All to play for.

Well AMC lost $344m on rev of $440m odd 2Q. And that includes selling shares to mugs.

This could be intersting tomorrow.

Now wheres my free popcorn....

No short, a simple buy.

It could go either way tomorrow.
results will be shocking, but that is in the price.

A short at these levels is a bet on bankruptcy, debt for equity, administration.
If cine pulls out, it could eventually be a multi bagger.

Very high risk, high reward.
We could lose all or in the long term win big.

For me , update is going to be disastrous

Huge losses
Unpaid Rent accrued - Landlords looking at legals
Unsustainable debt repayments
D4E is the only way this survives

Or set your Buy orders and hopefully they get filled. Narrowing losses and a good future looking statement my predict.

I'm looking forward to the first half update tomorrow covering up until the end of June and for the most of it we were closed. We are already beyond that on the calender so for me I'll be most interested in what has happened since we reopened and where things are now and for the future.

We did not have the Olympics on 9/10/11 2019
And obviously people had no choice but to subscribe to streaming channels the last 18 months but now are waiting for subscriptions to end …

The current US total box office estimated total is just $65,053,486 for last weekend August 6th to Aug 8th. Less than half the 2019 Aug 9th to Aug 11th weekend US box office total of $132,104,260. Things are not currently improving, in fact the figures for last weekend are currently down 17.2% on the previous weekend. Source boxofficemojo.

For those who are worried about streaming taking customers from cinemas . Fear not ! You should see cinema goers coming in dressed to the nines .
Especially women .They do not want to buy latest fashion/ hair does etc to stay in front of their tv at home !
They want to feel good and show it all off !

Another successful quarter for AMC, sold 3 times as many shares as it did cinema tickets. A well capitalised competitor is bad for the other operators - last man standing.

However it should be noted that AMC is still performing poorly.
