What was Cineworlds September projection as a % of sales vs 2019 comparison? I did see someone post previously . Would be good if the thread owner was still around so they could be added above and tracked

And yet the recovery trend continues.
As percentage of 2019 levels

May 19.4%
June 34.7%
July 45.2%
August at 48.1% with Monday Tuesday figures to add so lonely c. 50©
September and October of 2019 relatively low numbers and with film slate as we know it currently I fully expect further (and possibly fairly significantly) increase month on month of box office numbers.
August just done will have without question been impacted by the Delta variant and is still with this showing continued recovery.
:-)

I guess the good weather this bank holiday weekend will be used as another excuse for poor box office takings.

When this company is performing back at normal levels......it can easily cover the interest on its debt......its a cash cow with high profit margins.....the potential of a listing in the USA also adds an interesting angle to paying down some of the debt....risky sure....but a lot of bad news has already been priced in with a valuation of less than 900m.....roll the dice and take your chances....imo

Millennial, Difficult to say, Cineworld recently borrowed another $200 Million in July 2021. Also the outcome of the Cineplex court case is an unknown which could possibly be costly for Cineworld.

LTHTRUST How much turnover do they need to make per week to make it to the end of 2021? (with no additional borrowing)

The box office figures are not improving, if anything they are getting worse. Cineworld's base case scenario is for cineworld/regal to achieve 90% of 2019 admissions by the end of 2021. Is this likely ?

According to boxofficemojo the current US box office total for the weekend August 20-22 is just $63,421,047. Making it the worst US weekend since mid June 2021.

Thanks for sharing LTH, they aren't going to be paying of billions of debt with those measly figures.

Let’s not wait months please Board. This will be 300p in the US

—-

Following the acquisition of Regal in 2018, Cineworld derives the substantial majority of its revenues and profits from the US, which remains a key market for future growth. US equity capital markets are the largest and most liquid in the world and include a large number of publicly listed cinema companies including peer group companies. These companies are typically covered by a significant number of North American equity analysts with a wide domestic investor following. The Board is therefore considering options to maximise shareholder value now and into the future by accessing this liquidity through a listing of Cineworld or a partial listing of Regal in the US. The Board will evaluate these options over the coming months and will consult with shareholders in due course if any formal proposals are to be made.
