20/4/2023 13:15 | I topped up with another 25% at 226.39 this morning. I hope I don't live to regret not waiting for it to go ex div, or for another border flare up. | 1knocker
19/4/2023 07:11 | On today's Dow Jones news .China's economic rebound is still expected to support solid demand for copper this year, RBC recently raised its 2023 copper-price forecast to $4.00/pound from $3.75/pound previously, as China's recovery and tight metal markets outweigh factors, such as slowing growth in other countries and improving production in Peru and Chile. | melton john
17/4/2023 15:25 | In our Q1 Outlook, we forecast higher copper prices in 2023, but also wrote that after the initial rally, driven by traders and speculators preempting a pickup in demand from a recovering China, the hard work begins to support those gains, with an underlying rise in physical demand needed to sustain the rally, not least considering the prospect of increased supply in 2023, as several projects go live. Overall, we see copper trade predominately within the $3.75 to $4.50 range during the coming months, before eventually breaking higher to reach a new record sometime during the second half..... | zho
12/4/2023 18:17 | VSA Capital has a broker note out today for CAML, target price 300p. | bluemango
12/4/2023 08:25 | I had financial trend data in trading view including forecasts showing this trend down near the peek. Every stock becomes overvalued and undervalued as a result. This should start to reverse as net sellers should be out and buyers start coming in. For this reason I have started adding again this morning. Can't pick the bottom but this is near enough. | mrscruff
11/4/2023 10:45 | I can see why the share price has come off. People have done the numbers, and seen H2 22 was well down on H1 22. To date in H1 23, that has continued. If metal prices continue as they are, and following the company's strict adherence to its dividend policy, I'd expect the interim dividend to be cut to 8 pence tops. | pughman
11/4/2023 09:16 | What about closer to home, at EST's emerging copper project in Kaz? Small JV into that project perhaps. | the count of monte_cristo
10/4/2023 13:45 | Plenty of copper in that part of the world | leopoldalcox
06/4/2023 23:09 | In one of their presentations they said they'd looked at Namibia / Botswana in detail. Some interesting stuff there. | serratia
06/4/2023 22:09 | Somebody at Shares trying to set a hare running, then. | lord gnome
06/4/2023 21:26 | In an answer to a question after his presentation Nigel Robinson explicitly ruled out Latin American jurisdictions when considering potential acquisitions. | meanreverter
06/4/2023 17:06 | Can't see them looking at South America. Expansion somehow in Kazakhstan more likely unless they want to change their name to Global Metals. They could link up with East Star Resources. | scrwal
06/4/2023 16:29 | Hm. Producing assets might be preferable to undeveloped ones. | zangdook
06/4/2023 16:24 | 'The Carajás province in Northern Brazil is home to some of the largest undeveloped copper-gold resources in the world.' | lord gnome
06/4/2023 16:13 | That's a useful bit of intelligence, Harris. Good spot. Something not in the public domain for the likes of us mere private investors. | lord gnome
06/4/2023 14:32 | FWIW this week's Shares magazine has CAML as one of its "5 cheap stocks to buy now". Nothing much in the article that CAML holders won't already know, but I thought this snippet was interesting: "Central Asia Metals is on the lookout for acquisitions to drive growth, backed by its strong balance sheet. Berenberg believes a potential target could be the Carajas copper-gold assets in Brazil, currently held by OZ Minerals (OZL:ASX). Large miner BHP (BHP) is set to complete a takeover of OZ Minerals in the near term and Berenberg believes these assets are too small to be material for BHP." | harris tweed
31/3/2023 08:18 | Smashing, thanks zangdook. | gymratt
31/3/2023 01:19 | Gymratt For dividend data I recommend | zangdook
30/3/2023 12:02 | I'm sure CAML would love to get their hands on all that copper at AAZ. Not sure how shareholders would feel about the potential geopolitical headaches, with Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan. | pughman
30/3/2023 11:14 | So I’m asking as I’m an AAZ shareholder and trying to get a feel on opinion of shareholders here. Just trying to judge the mood and to see if the feeling from people who know CAML what size they’re thinking of. 1bn total cap eh? Interesting. Clearly CAML is much bigger than AAZ at the moment but AAZ have the growth plan laid out after today and so CAML would have to pay a hefty premium to interest the AAZ board (who own over 40% of the company) Well feel free to either say ‘yes interesting’ or ‘talking out your ass’ :D | jbravo2
30/3/2023 11:12 | I thought they'd moved away from that and were now looking at earlier stage projects. They would likely buy these cheaper and then finance through to production from existing cash flow. | rettah
30/3/2023 11:04 | Nigel wants a $1bn mcap company. He's looking to buy something of size comparable to CAML. Maybe that's why he's watching the pennies regarding the dividend. With the debt paid off, I'd like to have seen a buyback, 7-8% of their expensive equity would be $40m, the amount they used to spend on debt repayments. | pughman
30/3/2023 11:01 | CAMl have already said themselves they would want an acquisition (merger?) To give a marker cap of over £1 billion. To that extent the cash in the bank/ dividend payout is not at play. Some much larger structured transaction is on the cards. The share price suggests something is afoot . A few weeks ago this was heading to £3 , now it's heading to to £2 for a highly profitable co with a generous div. | vish65
30/3/2023 10:31 | CAML paid $405m just to get hold of Sasa. What does the BB here feel are their current target sizes for an acquisition with regard to the current lending environment? | jbravo2 |
