06/10/2017 09:10 | Re xclusive2 theory on locals held water up to Friday 22nd. Thereafter what I call the "St Ledger Day" gamblers hit a number of weakest small Oil stocks in a big way. CASP was 3rd largest on the list. CASP had 40 out of 53 trades after 11.30 am but most of that activity was momentum trades from mid Friday afternoon on. Monday's RNS was a welcome but unimportant interlude. Over the following trading days those gamblers positions have thinned out. Of the other stocks only one appears to have had any staying power. Now we have very thin trading and are waiting for GODOT. | togglebrush

06/10/2017 06:36 | Toggle,If your theory on local buying holds water, we'd be in trouble as I'd have expected to see some volume at this stage.Et al,I don't believe the ship is leaky, it wasn't pre the initial discovery at BNG where there were no early indications before share price rocketed. The volume burst 2 weeks ago was TA and the recent selling was probably the same peeps dumping pre news probably hoping that share price doesn't ticket if news is the right flavour.Would expect to see a little more volume, selling or buying over next few days pre news. | xclusive2
05/10/2017 12:54 | Dipla, If you mean going pop, nope. Difference with MXP was that they had arrogant Yanks in charge who had no real relationship with the Kazakhs when the original players like Kapelle left the scene. Casper is owned by wealthy Kazakhs plus they have 3400 bopd of oil so no risk as a going concern and will become a profitable company just from the shallows. Key challenge will be to funfd the deeps and will be able to do from cash flow but it will be slow progress and one at a time as opposed to being fiunded and accelerating FDP or exploration phase. K, Agreed. Wire line logs and info fed back. I disagree re gas as i believe there in the oil saturated structure and progress will be far quicker, i believe they know what they have already. We've all got a tad negative on here inc me but A5 flowed @ 2000bopd for a few hours. The oil is there, Clive Carver was obviously expecting 2 deeps to flow in short order but A6 encountered issues and that's why the sidetrack became main priority. I'm not expecting a no oil outcome as we've made a discovery, the question is, will they be able to handle the pressure and heat. Et al, Anybody with drilling experience like to put their 2 penneth in. Is the pressure and heat less challenging when your directional drilling v a vertical well ? Same issues with balancing the drilling fluids ? Smarty | xclusive2

05/10/2017 12:00 | there must be a buy order being worked, else that 100k sell would have knocked the share price smarty, i'm guessing they are still in the gas bearing zone, if they had hit oil we'd probably see some rumblings via the share price prior to rns. mates of mates etc. that youtube link you provided had a titbit i hadn't thought about i.e. the drill string contains logging technology, so its not a case of waiting for drilling to finish before any logging can be done, at least some logging is done whilst drilling. i wonder how much that speeds up the info gathering required for a cpr because its the reserves numbers that will send this stratospheric even beyond the hype that a deep hit will provide. so still a long game remaining (considering that more than 1 hit may be required to delineate the reservoir size) for those wanting to see the end game, but with available technology perhaps not as long as before. | konil

04/10/2017 12:40 | smarty, elaborating on your point, if the shallow assets here are as good as we're told and translate to a viable long term business come june 2018 when the export licence kicks in then the opportunity here is already based on a sound footing. assuming further shallow success from here then the often mentioned 23p valuation put out by whi based on today's assets should in theory go higher on shallows alone. then there are the deeps. even 1 success will have a massive long term impact, but not many will want to wait for it. what i mean is that a deep success will bring with it an immediate much increased production profile with perhaps a 50% uplift and the associated revenues, but the real benefits will be more subtle and on a (much) longer timeframe, namely; - the proof that these deep bng holes can be tamed and commercialised - the impact it will have on the company's ability to continue the deep programme - the increase in reserves it will bring in due course of course the hope is that the hype on initial deep success will see the share price get ahead of the reality and provide an opportunity for exit, but guaging that will largely be down to luck. but for the more patient (perhaps 2 to 3 more years?) the returns could be astounding, as the company books reserves and increases revenues on an exponential basis from a low base. all this is well and good and i guess most know all this but i suspect few will be willing to believe it or hang around to see it come about. admittedly much has to be taken on faith at the moment and with the record here that is a lot to ask, but just 1 deep success will change that balance of faith over proof. meantime those wanting to see it through may never get the chance because there's always the possibility of being swallowed by a bigger fish. casp could be the one that makes up for all those other outfits (oil and non-oil) that have shafted pi's over the years/decades - every once in a while a real gem does come around - could casp be it? | konil
