Wouldn't be surprised to see a worked sell order appearing at some juncture as the should be pushing towards 4p .

Pretty liquid market but controlled by our lovely MMs. Robbing people on the bid at 3.56 but ask reduced to 3.72p online limits, 525 bid v 300 ask. Needs some positive news or more public domain finds a la recent A5 and CE funds by Adrianz on LSE.

It's the Ask they need to drop (not the bid, nor the bud). Either do that, or raise the bid to make the spread tighter.

Btw chaps, there's an edit facility 🙂

Just copy and paste into Google translate for detail . Another good find by Adrianz. A specialist Drilling Manager from the US employed to the CE for 1year .

Adrianz on Twitter has managed to find a published work permit for the Operations Manager of the Caspian Explorer from the US to work in Kazakhstan from 20th May (yesterday) through until mid December.

Therefore looks like the contract is on, meaning a nice $10-15m profit from this, this year. Info was posted AFTER market close, btw. And could be entirely unrelated to today's late flurry of buying.

Nice to see a chunk of buying today. Over 2.5m buys and only 289k sells. MMS had built up a chunk of stock obviously and the bid was stronger than the ask at the close. News driven ? If so what's likely ? The CE news maybe first, then B8 licence maybe ? 803 will only be a progress update but could be A5 interim flow test update but unlikely. Could also be the 23 FY accounts as pre Covid, the reporting was usually in 3rd week of May and maybe new Accountants are more on the ball and back to old cycle ? If it is the accounts then we'll see a profitable year but with liabilities increasing hence the decision to sell the shallows, along with the problems to date re horizontal failures. Whatever it is, let's hope it's positive.

https://www.offshore-technology.com/news/kashagan-field-dispute-nears-resolution/This isn't the latest update but the Kazakhs are definitely putting the pressure on the big boys re meeting their drilling and production commitments. All in the pot but hopefully doesn't delay the Abay well.

Latest update from Casper

‘Offshore
Preparations for the Caspian Explorer's ENI drilling contract scheduled to commence in Q3 2024 remain on track. Significant pre-contract expenditure has been incurred with the bulk of the associated revenues due in the current financial year.

The unique nature of the Caspian Explorer has also resulted in our inclusion in a number of ongoing discussions to participate in new much larger scale offshore drilling projects.’

Q3 so take your pick, July/Aug/Sep. I suspect it’ll be July as the drilling season will get impacted by ice freezing come November. You’re 100% right to question whether it will happen this year especially as ENI agreement was in 2019, 5 years on and still no well. All eyes are on the web looking for the next update ;)

Caspian Explorer 7th March 2023The charterThe well is scheduled to be drilled in the summer of 2024 and is to be drilled to a planned depth of 2,500 meters. It will be drilled for the Isatay Operating Company LLP ("IOC"),a Kazakh registered explorer, in which Italy's ENI is a leading participant. The work is expected to take at least two months.June July and August is basically Summer. My question is do we think this charter will commence in June or has it vanished into thin air. Presumably an RNS should be released in May if the contract has been cancelled. Any views?

NN, Good post. We do agree that this is a scalable business and upside is coming our way. The current board excluding Aibek are in their early 60s and pointless having a load of value tied up and there has to be a payday in it for them. BTW, the Block 8 loan is to be repaid to Casper. Debt will be at zero for the first time in a very long time and the H2 will be a cash generative period for the company. Dividends ? don't believe they introduce the qtrly structure, probably opt for special payments but who knows, depends on how much cash they generate. It's primed for lift off and not too long to wait.
