Thats a bit of weak spin imv. Bolette is going into dry dock refit a few weeks before planned, probably partial due to the rivers it sails up being empty and maybe not selling all the cabins. Shows the problems of small ships and expensive fares. I couldn't find a decent price for the olsen cruise i wanted (dutch and french canals and rivers) - a good job since it looks like it would have been cancelled.

Fred Olsen Cruise Lines announced it had canceled 4 sailings aboard Bolette because of a lack of demand for the ship’s winter voyages. The UK-based company revealed the cancellations came after the voyages had not reached expected capacity levels at a time when fuel costs were higher.

mr, I've never suggested (I hope) that vacs weren't required for boarding ... it's the testing requirements which have been relaxed. The easy life for boarding is to be vacced for all lines afaiia.

If you're not vaxxed these days, I think (but not sure) that you can now board if you go through testing at the port.

I don't follow or know the details applying to the non-vaxxed because I'm fully vaxxed.

Pierre, Re a conversation recently about being vaccinated for covid being lifted, just of the phone to P&O, the lady said that statement is misleading and they do require passengers to be vaccinated.More confusing than ever.

seaborne bid rumour and 13% shorts wanting to close. Going to see some large up spikes. Chance for smaller PI to get in, next week is going to be very interesting.

The 3rd quarter results at the end of September will tell if they are really getting back to pre Covid levels of occupancy and on board spending

Seaborne cruises with it's small but luxury ships are a target for Saudi investors wanting to buy this part of Carnival, and with it's already large owned % of shares in Carnival will be able to vote for a sell. interesting... Could easily see £10 on any news.....

The interest CCL now pay on their debt is treble pre covid while the cost of fuel is double therefore when the ships are sailing full they're making far, far less money then they use to.

I agree it's a concern but when the ships are sailing full it's a huge money earner

As I've posted a few times on this thread, the biggest worry, the biggest concern the managers of CCL have is the amount of debt they're now carrying with something like 1/3rd rolling over in the next 2 years with the need to pay double the amount of interest when rolled over.

Indeed .... but at least they do have some floating assets and are not likely to sink ....

Indeed ... it's not all plain sailing ahead ... likely some choppy waters ... if there is a bit I wonder who it may be ...

Could be right Expedia are about the only ones with about £4bn spare cash they could take Tui with them although Tui is the most likely target with best assets

It's been like this for months, it looks to me as if there is a concerted effort to keep the price down I really believe we are being set up for a very low take out bid

It's dropped over 100 points since the new passenger numbers were announced.I hate to think what they'd be if it was bad.
