WHAT! are you insinuating that nobby was not 100% open and frank?? perish the thought, the party poker founders not truthful? how can you say that?

9 months of nothing, babies are conceived and formed in that length of time, yet 2-3 companies cannot sit down and work out a price between, willing buyers, willing sellers. The sooner Nobby is gone the better for all, GVC will do well to make sure he is not part of any on going deal, the man is toxic.

BPTY is a can of worms, exactly like SBT. maybe 888 saw it as a basket case.

Yes Stephen condition of entry into USA was founders sell up, but brownie was questioning the timing / price. They had until October. My point was the sale of bpty might require founders to sell off, brownies point was they knew the price...

Having read most papers today, the over whelming conclusion is, deal done, 888 are out of the race.

Should that turn out to be the case, 888 is a massive sell, top valuation of £1.40. 888 USA business will rapidly fall and with it the value of any bid.

The trouble about to hit usa gaming with the never ending RAWA nonsense is going to get worse, the Asian markets are looking good from here.

888 R.I.P.

hubshank, party poker could not re-enter the USA as long as the founders remained as shareholders, therefore 888 or Amaya would not have been able to use party that bpty own. The sale of those shares cleared that hurdle, and discussions continued.

brownie, I was/am always loathe to invest in any company that could disappear overnight, gvc is such a company. operating in unregulated markets is a dangerous game.

GVC also has a problem with usa for the same reason.

instead of slapping yourself on the back, I suggest you wait a while, in fact, wait for the FIRST bid.

Brownie, I've not read all the posts tonight, but is it not possible that the condition of any sale is that they are rid of the founders? Best do the spring cleaning before you move rather than after? I don't know but it would make sense. They could reinvest elsewhere - in Amaya for example. I don't know so curious to know your thoughts.

Ive never read such rubbish in my life.

Party founders selling 50m shares was your clue.

Without a bid premium BPTY are going to 70's based on market estimates.

Yes 888 could in theory come in with a higher bid but don't hold your breath based on their track record.

Stephen, I'm afraid you will have the same egg on your face as you did when you called GVC down to your target 50p. Your credibility is shot to pieces.

Frankie, can you post the piece on the possibility of a, moratorium being discussed that would prevent any new USA states Legalising online gaming. instead of RAWA. DETAILS ON POKERSCOUT.

This is why 888 daren't lose bpty, 888 are the major force in N.J. if Amaya get party poker that changes overnight, therefore whilst moratorium is in place(six months is being mentioned)888 has virtually no usa facing business.

The offers tabled by GVC Holdings and 888 for rival Bwin.party digital entertainment are broadly similar in terms of the implied valuation - about £900m - and the split between cash and shares. So what Bwin's board must now do is value each suitors' paper and weigh the risks involved in each against the other. For some analysts the potential synergies which would accrue from a combination with GVC could be considerable larger.

However, investors in Bwin may be less keen to own part of a company that derives a bigger part of its sales from unregulated jurisdictions. The reverse takeover proposed by GVC would also be more complex. GVC would also need to raise cash to help finance the deal. "GVC appears to have edged ahead, but, whichever wins, Bwin investors tired of the constant disappointments should grab what's on offer with both hands, hold" writes The Times's Tempus.

May I be so bold as to suggest that some serious egg on faces is just around the corner.
The silence from 888 is deafening and yet Kenny Alexander say`s, "for a deal not to happen would be staggering" from my point of view Kenny, prepare to be staggered.
The self congratulatory tones coming from GVC holders is rather premature at best, or impulsive.

888 will be making a bid, when? no rush.

several question`s should be troubling GVC/Amaya, who say`s the bidding war is ended? who say`s gvc/Amaya will gain acceptance from bpty holders? Nobby is not a major shareholder, how can he say a deal is near? has the major holder, Spring Owl made a comment yet, one way or the other? Many more questions will be raised, another bidder will appear, does Kenny believe that if he says the deal is done, that indeed it is?.

Do GVC holders not understand that any proposed deal has to be put to bpty holders? does anybody think that following the, Mischievous publication of Excellent updated figures, that bpty holders will not say, "hang on a minute, we are turning the corner here, why give it away".
Do the back slapping GVC holders believe that the likes of WMH might be interested in a very cheap road into the USA.

Many Questions, much egg on faces, the next 5-6 days will be fascinating.

This saga has legs.

TODAY'S TALKGVC / AMAYA appear near to signing a deal to acquire bwin.party. It's still not clear what assets would go where, but it seems highly unlikely that GVC would take the US-facing regulated business of Party, meaning Amaya will pick up that piece and roll it up with PokerStars in NJ. Depending on how Party's US partners MGM and Boyd react, we could also see movement in Nevada.YAHOO is now a player in the daily fantasy sports space. Yahoo will have some impact on the size of the market, but the primary impacts in the near-term will be (i) increasing media (and possibly regulatory) scrutiny of DFS and (ii) bringing the contentious issue of what sports are fair game for DFS under the UIGEA to a head.RAWA LITE could be in the works, per a report from GamblingCompliance ($). With little apparent political appetite for passing RAWA, supporters are considering proposing a federal study of regulated online gambling - and an accompanying moratorium on the ability of additional states to authorize online gambling. This should cause concern among proponents of regulation. A study / pause is a much easier sell politically and could undermine the breadth and volume of the diverse spectrum currently opposing RAWA. AGA head Geoff Freeman had some interesting comments regarding RAWA on last night's Ralston Live. Freeman warned of unintended consequences of passing RAWA and said gaming always needs "to be cautious" when inviting the federal government to have a greater role in the industry.

Quite a lot of info there to take onboard. Particularly when trying to read on iPhone.

Got the double of size but need to work out on what basis. Lots of variables. Or is the doubling in size just based on being undervalued?
