Maybe, but the US trading looks very sticky. Anyone tried trading the NYSE stock?

I think we are all disappointed by the pretty bad Covid news and Bur's US debut both coinciding, it's sods law about the timing, possibly better Covid news will cheer up BUR and the general markets and just maybe BUR will be known more outside of just the law circle, I live in hope...

GRS, don't be quite so harsh - it's actually more insightful than some posts I can think of.

This is the Burford thread - please can we stay on topic and keep it civil.

This dip is pretty indiscriminate - so IMHO not a reflection on BUR. However, it's timing is not helpful to establishing interest over the pond.

I know 5 people who've died of covid and no one who has croaked from the flu I also know medics who worked through March/April and it was totally grim And while the risk of mortality is low and easily calculated - nobody understands long covid and just what the long term health consequences of that are

Thanks for that Stockvalue. As regards my recently published paper,'The earth is flat',you only have to look at the horizon to see it's true.Like your theory,I blame the pesky media for brainwashing the public.

Would the so called pandemic exist without the media? I doubt it. My whole life is about mathematic and statistik. This whole pandemic is the most irrational thing i have seen so far, from a statistical standpoint it makes no sence what so ever. Actually my insights from the buy side tell me that its already known that there never was a pandemic. Nevertheless to suceed as a hegde fund manager in todays markets you have to take into account the wrong numbers, because ppl act on them. @djderry Clown!

It's hardly a media "campaign" - more a case that there are few balanced and knowledgable reports. But what's new about that?

The so called Pandemic is rather a huge media campaign than a real Pandemic. Check out this paper about the Infection fatality rate of COVID-19 puplished by Stanford Professor John P A Ioannidis.

And HK even more so - but compliance and previous experience would appear to be brakes that we and many others do not have. We have theory, but that has not been nearly enough. Arguably an impediment.

On the SARS lack of vaccine, the Oxford vaccine is a direct (I think) descendent of this. The former was not required in the end, but may well have been produced should it need to have been. This is what they (Hills, Gilbert et al at Jenner) had been working on and so were able to repurpose their knowledge so quickly.

They've been searching for a SARS vaccine for 16yrs now without success - not going to happen for cv19 either. Also virus's mutate as per annual flu jab lottery....
