Interesting RNS - it doesn't say Woodford have sold any it says this "No trading in the stock - voting control interest over stock transferred to new manager".

Take overs get mentioned a lot of the time it seems, although in this instance and given the seemingly high level of M&A activity at the moment and with a fairly high number of UK stocks appearing quite cheap to foreign investors, I am inclined to agree, although not sure if it will happen as quickly as that. Certainly interesting times.

great article but looking at share price history strong possibility that woodford has already sold part of the holding in preparation for the amount of funds in cash if the equity fund had become un suspended in preparation for the huge amount of sales when the fund gets un suspended.look at the share history of aa and kier group.GOT TO MENTION EDDIE STOBART LOGISTIKS WOODFORD HAS A 20 PERCENT STAKE FOR THIS LATER IN WEEK PHAPS ONE OF THE TAKEOVER BIDS MAKE A OFFER FOR THE STAKKE

Is it Jan 2020 before Blackrock management can start selling down holdings or will they start straight away? Press says winding down starts January. I'd agree with riverman about share price being subdued till NYSE listing but I'm willing to bet private equity will step in before that happens.

I imagine that anyone who is interested in buying Woodford's stake has been in discussions already. I also suspect that Barnett's Invesco funds aren't doing that well right now, so there could be a chunk available there. It's all down to whether someone wants to buy and if so, who. It's astonishing that only a year ago an oversubscribed placing occurred at £18.50, and since then, there hasn't been any change in anything other than sentiment. But the market can be a voting machine for a long time.
The market cap is currently well below the likely level of any settlement entered into by Argentina. If they thought it through, they might buy Woodford's shares, knowing that they could settle the claim at some point and likely treble their investment straight away.

Just to clarify my earlier comment, I remain as optimistic as ever on the company, but can't see a re-rating until they get nasdaq listing.

On a separate note, I was very pleased to hear the Woodford fund will be liquidated. I think the overhang has hugely held back the share price. Woodford was clearly not selling, so we had this stalemate with the share price in limbo.

However, the administrator will now be actively looking to offload the shares - for a fund manager this has to be a fantastic opportunity to not only pick up Woodford's position at rock bottom price, but also to simultaneously remove the overhang.

I am probably going to regret this (in the short term anyway), but I have decided to stay put and ride this out. I started following this company on the day of the MW stuff and was impressed with the response of the BOD. On balance, the business still looks good to me. The next two or three sets of results will be the proof in the pudding of course, but hopefully there will be enough new information for the longs to cheer before the next set of results, to at least put a bit of a brake on the current sentiment decline. I don't think results will provide a catalyst judging by last time (record results but still fell). I think news of the Nasdaq listing will be only thing that could drive these higher anytime soon.

It could rise 50% from here and still be below the price MW closed their short at. Very cheap but needs a catalyst to turn things around and next results are 6 months away.

Woodford owns 20 million shares, current value 150 million. Burford shares in circulation 216 million, current market cap 1.66 Billion, broker forecasts vary from £11.64 - £26 per share which equates to a potential market cap of 2.5 Billion - 5.6 Billion. The average value of daily trades over the past 12 months has been circa 500 Million. I'm sure sentiment has a huge part to play here going forward, but with a little good news and some positivity returning, the market volume and value should accommodate an exit of 20 Million shares quite readily? Buying opportunity for me. Thoughts welcome. DYOR
