Doesn't look complex to me.....in one RNS Burford have explained exactly what has happened and with the relevant backing they will find out who was behind it.

After 1 impressive rebuttal, major directors buys, proof of market fraud and nothing of substance from Gotham despite their months of research, you'd think the bears would shut up now.

The FCA are pathetic. At times of high volatility shares must be immediately suspended. If they are not, like in this case, the RSP desks of the brokers who make markets on Aim don’t have the capital to take risk so they just switch off their desks to the online platforms leaving all trading to the algos and wholesale market which stops retail investors getting in or out, resulting in massive losses or inability to benefit from gains. That makes for a totally rigged market sponsored by the FCA where the schmuck is joe punter. And this is legal??? I believe in capitalism but if I ever had a powerful position in politics I would introduce draconian changes to trading, hedge funds, private equity and director liability. Re Burford, mark my words, nothing will ever be proved and no one will be sued or go to jail. Still the directors picked up £4m of stock at distressed prices (I managed 5000 on a fill or kill order which took 2 hours to execute) so they are ok aren’t they. Sick of it all

The MuddyWaters of this world need to be made an example of. Global stockmarkets only work for one reason - a perception of integrity. If that goes, then the whole shebang comes down.

If the market appears rigged (or can be) then this needs nipping in the bud and the sooner the better.

In Argentina primary elections the populist Peronistas have won by a landslide, I think this is bad news for YPF-Petersen case, these people are not going to pay notwithstanding what the final verdict

Will we get MW's response to the rebuttal today? Sure to have plenty of the ingredients needed to get the press reporting their side with the throw away line BUR seems to want to spend a load of money pursuing a highly complex market manipulation case rather than let a court decide whether MW was right in what it said or not. Obviously the press won't bother to explain the speech law issue.

So as expected not going for what MW said (that would come under speech law), but some sort of conspiracy theory. How will BUR PROVE that those trades were either placed and withdrawn by MW or people connected to and coordinated by MW?

Trying to compare trading over that period with normal daily trading is obviously a nonsense. The company's own RNS on 7 Aug before it even knew it was a target created some of the effects described.

What BUR are actually saying was there was a disorderly market, continually in and out of auction, which MW and BUR jointly created but BUR, NOMAD and AIM Reg did nothing to stop it - ie why weren't the shares suspended? The lowly Italian AIM would have suspended automatically within the first half hour as it did when QCM attacked Bio-On.

All BUR has done is create some big contingent liabilities for its own legal bills and is likely to be made to look very foolish.
