It's worth a quid IMO - but they need to settle the Allianz dispute first.

I wish I'd bought in the absolute depths of the pandemic panic at 10p but was busy buying and selling other stuff; best I've done here is 22p, but have also paid as much as 54p.

The spread on these shares are ridiculous the offer just keeps shooting north with a spread of 2p to the bid, that's almost 10% makes you wonder what's going on

Happy with either of those valuations, preferably the first one. Looks to be getting interesting so this might end up my xmas viewing haha.

It's got a book value of 90p that would be a good start

If they sort out that damn court case out that's been going on for years and years this could shoot up to 50p then it'll get really interesting

A bit of a battle between the Alliance family and Ashley by the looks of it.

Problem is the economy always lag the share price by the time you see green shoots they're already well up to fair price. I've only been watching Jacamo you can see they're running low of stock already most of the sizes have sold out on the branded goods. A couple of weeks ago they had every size. The delivery is mega quick, example order Sunday night they're on your doorstep by 3pm next day on free delivery

To add.

If their is no idiosyncratic news to the upside/downside (bad updates/buyout etc..), i don't envision this will move up quickly, as i said, might be next year once a clear picture is made of how shallow/deep and short/long this recession is. Same for Asos/Boohoo etc...

Reasons not to buy are macro conditions and the litigation case outstanding. Reasons to buy are as you said, huge discount and seems some large buys are brewing. If an offer falls through, yet macro conditions improve, this still has a very good discount.

Update is in Jan i believe, so if hesitant, that should give you a picture of their current condition.

People are wanting a huge risk premium on all these retails due to the uncertainty, and you can see that not just in retail but across the board. I would have hoped they have priced in peak inflation and a recession next year and once we have some updates next year under improved conditions forward looking into 2024 and out of a recession, these stocks will price that in.

It’s tempting to buy at these levels in anticipation of a bid at 50-60p, perhaps higher. But if negotiations fail, Ashley would probably dump his stake, in which case the shares would fall back to 20p. Is this a valid concern and – apart from this – are there other reasons not to buy?

Interesting they've been used before for stakebuilding before a bid they're linked with guess who

Another TR-1. This time Monecor taking a 5% stake (previously nil). Google "Monecor Ashley" for some interesting history.

That might be why the CFO has decided to give 12 month's notice period before leaving. Possibly surplus to requirements

Accumulating on the cheap then does a deal with the Alliance family then it's taken over. Which is why I questioned the release of shares by Alliance a week or so ago.

Did say it looks like a huge transaction is coming it's just the way they ramped up the offer price for days on very low volume. Probably find out Ashley has accumulated more
