26/1/2023 10:14 | Big Sam certainly has the physique to be interested in N Brown, given their focus on the generously proportioned. But why doesn’t he simply open an account, rather than buy the lot? My guess is that the ex-wife of the major shareholder knows that something is in the air and wants some skin in the game. Rumours of an imminent “bid” may be greatly exaggerated, though. | up4itt
25/1/2023 17:13 | Sam allerdyce??😂 | gripfit
25/1/2023 17:00 | Surely if the Mashley was going to bid, he would have approached Schroeders ? And if so, Schroeders wouldn't sell 'cheap' to Lady Allerdice. My money is still on an Allerdice bid. | outsizeclothes.com
24/1/2023 23:47 | Surely IF there was a "predator in the wings" the predator would be buying the shares, not Lady Alliance. I still think a bid is on the way, but from the Alliances. | outsizeclothes.com
24/1/2023 07:13 | Well there is no obvious evidence that they want to buy it and take it private. One of the reasons that they moved the company from the main market to Aim was to take advantage of the inheritance tax concessions applicable to eligible listed companies on the secondary market. Whether there is a predator in the wings is another question altogether and that has to be a possibility given the 50% fall in the shareprice since they transferred to Aim just over 2 years ago. | masurenguy
23/1/2023 21:09 | I may have this all wrong, but if the Alliances were to make an offer to take it private, wouldn't they have to make that offer at the highest price paid in the last 12 months acc to the takeover code? If so - that would be c.41p now, looking at the chart, but c.34p if they waited til early March? As I say - apologies if this is incorrect. I'm sure none of us would be very happy with so little! | boystown
23/1/2023 20:47 | The other interesting aspect is they've settled the court case 6 month's earlier than the date they mentioned in their guidance in their results for more than they anticipated obviously to speed the process up to put a line under it. You'd only do that if something else is going on behind the scenes like a merger or takeover. Surely? | creditcrunchies
23/1/2023 18:20 | I was under the impression they had enough stock already (over 50%) to take it private so when the Alliance family started buying even more I'm not sure what the plan is now. Schroder still have a lot of stock the other institutions have reasonably large holdings as well. | creditcrunchies
23/1/2023 16:56 | To take it into private family ownership yes but not if they just wanted to delist. | masurenguy
23/1/2023 16:52 | To take private or delist, do they have to buy the rest of us holders out? | johnv
23/1/2023 16:49 | The Alliance family own over 50% of the shares and they would not accept a 40p bid for the business. A predator would have to bid north of 60p for them to even begin to show any potential interest. | masurenguy
23/1/2023 16:34 | A 40p bid might be enought to take out the Company completely. What's the N.Brown Constitution say ? Is it a 75% majority needed to take private / delist ? | outsizeclothes.com
23/1/2023 16:34 | nice spreadsheet! Much appreciated. | camo1997
23/1/2023 16:25 | No prizes for guessing who was buying and who was selling. | no dice
20/1/2023 18:02 | Now we know why the spread increased at the open it was almost 3p | creditcrunchies
20/1/2023 17:18 | Another 4m delayed trade from this morning just gone through | ivancampo
20/1/2023 16:29 | BUMP today, BWNG next ! | outsizeclothes.com

20/1/2023 12:42 | short asc and boo still idiot boy ? | drew lonmenob
20/1/2023 09:04 | Having worked for this company in the past - the Alliance family will never let this go, to Ashley or anybody. | danieldruff2
20/1/2023 08:47 | Are you a real person? | ivancampo |
