Interesting to see its a Ghana/China consortium. I do not recall any Ghana entities being mentioned before.

So this must mean that the option of using the Etinde gas domestically remains open, even if the Bioko export option might be more lucrative?

(that's $289m according to the googled converter)

Not forgetting that the Aksa project goes back to H1 2019 and earlier, due scepticism is warranted as even the journalist who wrote this piece demonstrates.

Meanwhile, a snapshot of just how backward and undeveloped Cameroon is:

Since Perenco is private they would not necessarily need to make updates as often as a public company...but I agree we are getting close to the June long stop date for finalising the deal with New Age. I would not be surprised if the long stop was extended as that has happened repeatedly with Afentra in Angola.

This is a very complex situation and I am not convinced it will ever happen at this rate. No updates from Perenco make me nervous. I hate to say it but think this will amount to nothing and cost me and other holders a serious amount of money.

But there any read through from the Chad row, to ongoing discussions between Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea, which seem to be proceeding positively as highlighted in the recent Bowleven results?

Perenco has recently acquired oil assets in Chad: hxxps://www.rigzone.com/news/perenco_buys_glencore_oil_interests_in_chad-04-jul-2022-169375-article/

But how could that have any knock on effects on the Cameroon/ EG discussions?

Seems to be a diplomatic row with Chad over this so not sure that is good for Perenco or Bowleven.

Cameroon state oil co SNH has bought 10% of an oil transport pipeline from Savannah

Not sure there is any direct read through to Bowleven, but perhaps a positive sign that they have some money to spend?

The Bowleven annual report said that the Perenco/New Age deal provided no reason to change the valuation. As Perenco is a private company they probably do not need to disclose it.

I would be fascinated to know what Perenco are paying New Age for the asset.

Been fairly decent buying since announcement, some spot a bit of a bargain?

So is this now the ultimate gambling stock on an upside/downside basis? Will Crown let it go for the sake of a couple of mill to keep the lights on?

Not looked at it for 5 years or more but a broker note with a carrying value of $150m on Etinde piqued my interest.

The long stop date is a kind of initial deadline, but it often get extended, just look at Afrentra in Angola. It might take more than a year.

Etinde cannot surely remain the "cursed" Cinderella forever if Cameroon are serious about finally exploiting their gas.

Yeah, you're right Toon and that looks a reasonable interpretation especially given how it links back to this from buy_more back in August:

It seems that lots of online media are now including Etinde when they report on the exploration deal between Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea. For example :-

Looks like typical selling and price drop ahead of their announcement. I wish I had never heard Bowleven mentioned all those years ago. Are we approaching the end?

Gabon is only about 600 kilometres south of Cameroon? Grasping at straws, could there be any possible synergy between the Gambon LNG terminals and Etinde? Are the Gabon big cheeses friendly with the Cameroon grand fromages?

Grasping at straws, one might argue that cooperation between the two countries bodes well for any eventual monetisation of Etinde?

Published this afternoon, with, not unexpectedly, no mention of Etinde:
