Quarterly reporting is required in the US. The 10Q is a US regulatory filing to the US SEC regulator. Twice a year is normal in the UK.

Reporting Results Quarterly
Each company is required to report earnings on a total of four separate occasions throughout the fiscal year. Three quarterly statements will be filed as 10-Qs, and one annual report with Q4 data within it will be filed as a 10-K. (Investopedia)

How come we get 2 reports for the year? March being the last one,

The word "optionality" was used in the context of "stakeholders", which could include the Cameroon state oil company, and the wider Cameroon community and society. Perhaps Perenco might be able to offer more employment or other economic benefits for Cameroon in some way, and perhaps that might expedite FID. This is pure speculation but I keep an open mind for next week's results.

Very possibly with the corollary being FID receding into the distance.

As soon as that word "optionality" was used, the implication was that the Bioko project was either struggling or had hit the blocks.

Be nice to be pleasantly surprised for a change.

Companies do often announce material news during scheduled results, even though it might have occurred some period before. It is very unlikely that every piece of important news released in results, only occurred the day before results. There must be some rules around thresholds and time lags that might sometimes require an immediate RNS, but might also sometimes allow firms to wait until he next scheduled general announcement...I keep an open mind about what if anything may be revealed in results.

Based on past performance, a pretty safe bet, gark, would be that, like each of the last three years, it will "Sorry, no FID this year but FID will be reached next year" while the trouble is next year never comes.

As for Perenco ascending to the operatorship, if the Cam government formalities have been completed then that is significant and material so why no RNS? Similarly, back in March with the H1 Results, it was indicated that SNH had promised to rapidly respond to the Bioko processing project so, once again, if a positive response was received by the JVP, why was that not the subject of an RNS? With so little news, no wonder the share price seems so moribund.

AS for this from Chahin: "The change of JV partner at Etinde is a key development in accelerating the path to FID ..................... We believe that the project will benefit from best-in-class technical capability and a partner that brings
additional optionality in ensuring a positive outcome for all stakeholders."

"Additional optionality" would appear to be anything but an accelerant given the sub glacial pace at which this industry habitually moves in its deliberations.

Incidentally, I wonder if one of those options might relate to the large Perenco/Addax oilfield just north Etinde (its principal FSO, the Massongo, looks to be no more than 20km north) with many of those wells being pretty mature and just the sort to benefit from gas injection to increase production/longevity.

That assumes that the people trading this have some special knowledge of what is going on in terms of Cameroon negotiations? I reckon that is unlikely. The stock has sometimes languished for weeks or months before rising on some good news.

Virtually no volume over the past week, even by the standards of this stock. Some days with actually zero shares traded, and other days like today with tiny numbers that almost might as well be zero. Are people waiting for early November results, or perhaps something sooner on Perenco?

The Cameroon government people go on holiday in August and should now be back at their desks I hear. We might see something on the Perenco deal, and then BowLeven results are due around early November? They might also give some more colour or detail on the Perenco deal, lets see.

Lukoil board had the balls to call the so called "Special operation" a war and for an end to it.

2 of the board have "died" since. No wonder then that not many Russians dare speak out about the murderer Putin and his gang of thieves. RIP both victims. On the upside Navalny still manages to get messages out of his prison to call Putin out.

Invested here for a long time and still hopeful for a positive exit.
