beaudelaire,
I would generally agree with you in that I am naturally drawn to lower risk companies, for instance I recently bought resolution life (RSL) on the basis that they are solid and a potential takeover target with very limited downside.
I think (hope) the rise in sola is due to it appearing on the radar of the specialist small cap funds, or someone is stake building thus I reason the large buyers are likely to be long term holders so I think(hope) the downside is small whilst the upside to 7/800 is possible within 6 months. I like to have two or three aim listed companies to give short term gains.

Regarding sola I cannot find any logic with such huge rises.
If it was me who is sitting on such a huge profit I would have taken it
today as if the reverse trend happens it will also be very sharp.
This is why I prefer stocks like biff: Slow and certain.

Looking good, when I bought I set a short term price target of 290, looks like we might meet that in the next few days.

I have decided to sit on Sola for a while as I (and others) believe that the institutions are behind the rise and they will hold/accumalate whilst results continue to be positive so putting a floor under the price.

46pete, thanks for the encouragement, I said you are eternal optimist. Beaudelaire, surprised you are looking at taking profits, thought this had further to go short term. They should get the men out this mornin fixin that thing thats costin millions, not wait till mid 2007.

The Band,re ALY,could be a buy if they drop much further, they need strong sales over xmas and some trendy names wearing their stuff to boost sales,
look how Next and Burberry have performed over the years.
I have held these shares for a long time with no dividends just discount vouchers, could be they will recover in the new year, best of luck.

Beaudelaire............. I have come to respect your opinion over the last few weeks, even though you once lost patience with me and told me i'd be better off eating boeuf or something like that.
However, this renesola thing, if mlynch are looking to 800p, BEARing in mind all the analysts they have on tap, would you not consider getting back ( into bed ) even though you had a traumatic experience with miscommunication etc.
As you know, i am more on the side of short termism, golf gti conv. whereas you are more like a Mercedes 230sl 1965, 1,500,000 mls.
Surely ( dont call me Shirley) 800p is not to be sniffed at, or do you think its a moth.

Beau,

I think you are right about SOLA.

Renesola is not aware of any other reason for the increase in its share
price, it added.

Not yet wat -
Every season has a story.
They might change their story to bring it down
for a while. I don't want to be in if or when that happens.
I will rather wait. If I missed the boat that's life.
At least I would sleep better anyway.
sola chart tells me there is a bit of "irrational exhuberance"
in the way the rise took place in a short space of time.

roger1-
A country of many contrasts.
The gap between the few rich and the poor (majority)is growing faster.
The only chinese company I bought shares in was sola.
Unfortunately I sold when the fat evil knievel posted
a wrong report on Chinese companies listing in London AIM.
This is despite I always did the opposite of what he says
for the last 6 years !
The only thing I am sure about is they are a bit desorganised but
capable of working under any condition or time of the day for as
as long as it takes. Thus I would believe any target they say they will achieve.
So for a manufacturing/producion company such as sola this is great.

beaudelaire,
Must have been a fantastic to visit China, do you have any tips, what is your opinion of CHNS? I also hold ACHL in the investment club to which I belong, another longer term holding in my view.

True rogerl -
I also think sola will hit any target it wants as in China
they work 24H/24H with no legislation, no holidays, no weekend
for many companies - I saw it personally -
The salaries can also stagnate for years.
So there won't be any increase in overheads or cost at all.

beaudelaire-
Sola will retrace somewhat, but I think someone is stake building and I believe a western company solar panel will buy in at some stage, to at least take a significant stake to give security of supply and potential easy access to the far eastern markets.

If I am right another uplift should be on the cards

Please don't remind me about sola ...
I sold low, very low (with a profit of course).

IMO sola share price will retrace from now - It's the market rules.
You can pick it up again a bit cheaper if your profit is significant.
Personally I wouldn't buy now at such level.
