06/12/2006 09:21 | beaudelaire- I could not have put it better myself, this is one which makes for a good nights sleep, now back to decide what to do about SOLA | rogerl
06/12/2006 09:21 | I agree beau. Haven been working out full year figure. I estimate the revenue to be around 743-750 million with pre-tax profit around 75 million. That could only increase with securing of further contracts which I am optimistic about as local concils nowadays are looking for a kind of service Biff's been providing through government PFI scheme. The company has generated good amount of cash and reduce its debt. And also I am impessed with the way the accounting has been reported. Very lucid, precise and easy to follow. That shows something about the management. Even if they are not interested in merger or takeover bid now, which might further reduce cost, it should do well on its own. EPS seems hard to work out as it demerged from Strent. It is dollar-proof too! So good one to shelter in considering what's being reported about world economy in general. | ![]() watwungyi
06/12/2006 09:08 | wat - For someone patient and willing to wait 1 - 2 years this is one of the most defensive and safest stock to have in a portfolio. - The business is in demand forever - Growth to be significant in coming years with European legislation on waste disposal. - Takover target - Gives a dividend - A very denfensive stock | beaudelaire
06/12/2006 08:50 | I think it's a strong result with improvement in all divisions. Most impressive perhaps is special waste division where the margin is up 90% and the new legislation about hazadous waste will help the company. I think I will enjoy staying with this for years to come. | ![]() watwungyi

03/12/2006 17:28 | The only way these will "fly" is if a bid comes in which I wouldn't entirely write out of the equasion but other than that I see BIFF as a steady riser which should pay a good divi and let you sleep at night. Exciting I don't think it is, but profitable I do, though I think we'll all need a little patience. If you're looking for excitement theband then I think you're right to sell but at least wait until you're even. Good luck and lets hope there's good news next week to help you out with the share price | ![]() warranty
02/12/2006 03:17 | Sorry Warranty, but I bought these cos MR DEMOLITION MAN said they would fly. Ever since then i've been so excited i can't sleep. | ![]() theband
01/12/2006 21:19 | theband, almost certainly results at 7am but why you'd be looking to sell I can't fathom. This is a newly listed company with strong growth potential and good defensive properties. Stick them in an ISA, forget about them for a few years and you'll be well rewarded. Selling if they fall a little doesn't make sense surely?? | ![]() warranty
