30/7/2019 08:44 | Superg, if you have been doing research before investing then I would expect you to understand much better especially as you suggest that is your typical modus operandi. The method you are discussing is the superficial understanding of the application not even the hidden depths of the technology. There are plenty of companies that I don't understand the details but see the investment benefit but you continue to show that you don't get it. We are so far beyond buying kids games on consoles that you must have done that years ago. I hope you at least bought a few as a risk investment before deciding to buy more, but alas you may be buying your first holding at a much higher price. Fair play if that is your approach but recognise that many of us understand things that you don't. | global nomad
30/7/2019 08:41 | The point he was making , I believe, is more money is made from the advertising incorporated within the free digital games than the hard copies. If you have huge numbers of gamers all over the world playing a very popular game than of course the revenue from adverts is very considerable and of course BIDS wants a piece of that pie! | ![]() goodbloke1
30/7/2019 08:39 | Superg, you need to understand the software development process. Traditionally adverts were baked into the game on either physical or digital media. To change this the software developer needs/needed to rewrite part of the software and rerelease every time they have a new advertiser. Costly and not flexible | ![]() homebrewruss

30/7/2019 08:27 | Still asking questions as part of the learning process. In game advertising. Historically all games were physical sales and thus the advertising in them could not be changed. Bids software can do that it seems, I may have read it wrong. I need to read up but does the advertising relate to digital sales too. Are digital supplied games subject to the same lockdown 'problem' on advertising. BIDS revenue So it seems the forecast so far is entirely reliant on advertising space sold on Dirt 2 and Grid when it releases in September. Having been through the process of buying these games for kids I'm well used to watching expensive games being abandoned after the initial excitement, with the old favourites dominating the gaming sector. EG in mid July to get into the top 10 of games sold you need to sell more than 2,500 in a week, Dirt 2 doesn't feature in the top 10. To make the top 40 more than 1000 sold for the week. Info from the web suggests Dirt 2 100k to 200k sold with 633 owners that played concurrenlty it yesterday. That to me doesn't sound like a blockbuster that is going to bring in the revenues forecast. Unless of course that is the anticipated number of players they used for their forecasts. After all Dirt 1 data was available. | ![]() superg1
