Interesting to see if this bounces off 15p or drops.

A mere £800 sell trade a few minutes ago was enough for two of the MMs on BGBL to immediately cut their prices

takeatip - see Lennon's post 750

Peer/rival SMS has put out a positive trading update this morning. But they are five times the size of BGlobal and I think they focus on commercial and industrial clients rather than domestic(?)

EDIT: "...Currently the Company is concentrating its efforts on offering its unique integrated services to the UK industrial and commercial gas market in which its customers have an 80% market share.."

Last Government wanted them in by 2019, then this Government dont want them in.

Millions had been invested by the industry in trials, technology, software and British Gas even renamed part of their business to BG Smart Metering. It all seems a waste of time now.

To be honest, ripping out good meters and installing new ones isnt very environmentally friendly anyhow.

Well, lots of suppliers were trying to hold off exchange gas meters, as they have to be exchanged every 10-15 years and they knew Smart would be coming, so they waited. It could be that SSE, Scottish Power, npower, EDF will be looking for installers.

Len

Busy on other fronts whats the latest on Smart meters. My contacts tell me there are plenty of contracts coming up. You seem to think it is all gloom and doom though. Just talking as a whole not in relation to B Global.

Looks like somebody had to settle for a below-bid price on a mere £4000 trade an hour ago. MMs only quoting 10k lots (= £1650). So anyone attempting to sell more might not get out easily.

On its way down again this afternoon..

Might pause at 14.5p next? If not, a drop all the way back to 7p is possible methinks

I can't get my head round this stock, is it play or not, seems to buyers out there, based on what, guess work.

Thanks Lenn... for link not actually the same article, it regarded a voluntary organisation installing a meter and found out some rather wasteful appliances in their office and saved a considerable amount of money per month, so meters maybe a good idea to see what is using the most energy. They also touched on the privacy argument.

I still have a small holding.

Huge report in the telegraph yesterday regarding smart meters, positive and negative augments. Hard copy only by looks, can't find link.

takeatip, depends if anyone wants to use bglobal. I dont think they impress the suppliers, so why would they want to use them?

Positive interview on the radio today. Pity B-Gas kicked this company out as they are putting in meters galore. Still there are so many meters to be put on the wall, that there will pretty soon be more than enough work to go round. This year in fact things will change. Most obstacles out of the way now come on the mass roll out.

Is the voluntary fact or just a suspicion of what happens next.

2trying... That's probably a good thing they are going with a new supplier who is installing smart meters from the word go, due to the governments change of mind on smart meters which will only be voluntary now.

I see in the header it mentions British Gas being a customer, I wouldnt have thought they'd have that contract anymore as BG took all the work back to run it in-house.
