What that means is robust and unequivocal support for the Salamanca Project from the Castilla y Leon government

General Secretary of the PP in Castilla y León, Francisco Vázquez.
14 June Vallodolid (EFE)

“…in relation to the project for the exploitation of the uranium mine that the multinational Berkeley projects in Retortillo (Salamanca), the PP of Castilla y León supports this activated socially challenged even by the national PP, which yesterday supported the Congress of Deputies an initiative to urge the Government to paralyze this activity.

"We are characterized by a certain coherence in decision-making and that is not going to change now, we respect the decision of the Congress but we will continue to maintain our position" in favor of the uranium mine in Retortillo (Salamanca), it has concluded.” EFE

"Odds shortening"

I wonder what you mean by that!

Reading carefully, the article seemingly is only reporting certain requests that are to be made by the Lower House to the Government for information, the most relevant to us being for the Nuclear Security Council to inform on the "actual state" of their evaluation of the project.

- the Government may or not reply
- what can the NSC say? .... not much ..... progress 20%, 50% ...
- manaña ...

For those curious over Global X's sale they have reweighted their whole portfolio selling down all uranium equity holdings including Cameco with new focus on utilities and engineering etc. Gather that, as funds come in, likely to be buyers again.

Hi QP,Thanks for the pointer to the recent prospectus contents - I will take a look.Today's update that Global X have substantially reduced their holding is interesting; I guess they see better short-term opportunities in CCJ, etc. whilst BKY take the slower road to production?Cheers, tightfist

I think if the National Police put a figure of 3000 and the organisers 5000, there may be a suspicion that a figure of 100 is a tad delusional.
BTW Berkeley shares are not yet quoted on the Spanish Bolsa.

The new 288 page prospectus for the Admission of BKY shares to the Main Board of the London market is available on the Berkeley Energia website.

It contains exhaustive information on the current status of BKY, permitting, financial figures, risk factors (especially pages 15-29) etc. etc.

A thorough document prepared under strict FCA guidelines which cover all matters comprehensively.

The prospectus details the exact status of all permitting and permitting approvals and permitting applications.

The Risk Factor section details perceived risks to the project.

An important document.

A repost in the comments section to the article by one Paul Atherley:

"Valentina we have repeatedly requested that you and or your Editor contact us before you publish these articles with such dramatic headlines. Simply repeating claims of “thousandsR21; demonstrating against the mine does you no credit. As you can see from the comments section your article is being used as a mouthpiece for the opposition groups. We send people to these events and count the number attendees and as a general rule of thumb the numbers are exaggerated by a factor of ten. Yesterday’s demonstration was attended by just over 100 people. Significantly less than the previous one. Importantly these demonstrators were bussed in. They are not locals. These events coincide with the number of fully documented job applicants - mainly locals - exceeding 22,000. A better headline might have read “Tens of thousands of local mine job applications dwarf poorly attended opposition demo.” Kind regards Paul Atherley"

Seems like uranium dynamics is changing. I think anyone shorting uranium equities must be mad at the moment. I can only assume that some posters here are accumulating while trying to keep negative sentiment.

Canaccord Research - Uranium Fundamentals Improving

Subject: URANIUM--Canaccord Research.

Recent News Increases the Uranium Sector’s Half Life…Spot Price Back Above US$23/lb: Recently improved uranium prices (Weekly Ux U3O8 Spot Price increased by 60c to US$23.35/lb…see chart below), along with four key pieces of positive uranium-specific news (see below) has led to renewed interest in uranium equities (see second chart below). The UxC Weekly notes that spot uranium activity has remained at moderate to higher levels over the past several weeks in terms of both number of transactions and volume that resulted in a continued upward trend in the spot U3O8 price for most of May. All buying groups, including traders, utilities, producers, financials, and others, have been active seeking material across a wider spot delivery period, with more interest for late 2018 and early 2019 emerging earlier in May. However, over the past two weeks delivery focus has shifted to the next several months. Here’s a quick summary of the recent news which has piqued interest in the space:

• Kazakh production may decrease further in 2018 (on May 31, “Kazakhstan plans to cut uranium production this year to 21,600 tonnes, Energy Minister Kanat Bozumbayev said”, representing a drop of ~5.2Mlbs or ~8.5% from 2017 levels: hxxps://www.interfax.kz/?lang=eng&int_id=21&news_id=31626),
• US governmental support for nuclear which could help future reactor operations (on June 1, “US President Donald Trump has directed Secretary of Energy Rick Perry to take immediate action to stop the loss of "fuel-secure power facilities" from the country's power grid, including nuclear power plants that are facing premature retirement”: hxxp://www.world-nuclear-news.org/NP-President-calls-for-action-to-preserve-US-nuclear-plants-0406187.html),
• News that a new uranium investment fund is preparing to launch (“Uranium trader Yellow Cake to list on AIM next month… The group has a long-term supply contract with Kazakh group Kazatomprom, one of the world's lowest cost producers of uranium, that will see it acquire US$170mln of U3O8 following the IPO. Yellow Cake is paying US$21.01 per pound, a discount of about 8% to the current spot price.”: [...]
• Recent talk that producers are more likely to buy larger quantities of material from the spot market
Canaccord Genuity Mining Sales notes that many of the uranium equities have been up strongly over the past few sessions, and this momentum could continue on the back of last night’s UxC spot price increase. In addition to blue chips Cameco (CCO-CN/CCJ-US, not covered) and Uranium Participation (U-CN, not covered), we would also highlight US producers Energy Fuels (EFR-CN, not covered) and Uranium Energy (UEC-CN, not covered), and developers NexGen (NXE-CN, not covered), Denison Mines (DML-CN, not covered), Fission Uranium (FCU-CN, not covered), Azarga Resources (AZZ-CN, not covered), and Vimy Resources (VMY-AU, SPEC BUY, A$0.50 target).
