I think that the following from the outlook statement has also impressed the market:
The Board has previously highlighted the sensitivity of earnings to the timing of completion of some of Berkeley's larger developments. One such development is the Tower, One St George Wharf in Vauxhall which is currently ahead of its original programme and now is on track to deliver the majority of completions in the second half of the current financial year. Assuming this project can be delivered to this timetable, the Board has indicated that earnings are likely to increase towards the top of the range of analysts' current expectations. A further update on the delivery of this project and expectations for the current year will be provided in the trading update scheduled to be released in March 2014.

See the government is meddling in house prices again. Measures to limit house price rises being put in place. Maybe putting a stop to the ridiculous help to buy schemes would be a good start. They are too quick to react again and should just let natural economic growth sort it out.

I think buyers are moving into this based on the excellent results from TEF yesterday. Difficult to see how BKG will fail to imnpress when they next announce results (in the next few weeks for interims) given current trading conditions in and around London.

A more than happy holder.

of well. I suppose we just keep the winners until the -15% trailing stop loss is hit. stop loss is £21 on that basis. IMHO, DYOR, all the best

Can't help thinking London will never enter oversupply, nevertheless price will reduce effective demand.

Great results, but a lot of speculation about interest rates rising will be hitting the sector.

Probably technical - according to Trading Central the RSI is overbought, although "the upside prevails as long as 2315 is support". Add that to a down day in general and there you go. But what do I know?

Yolanda Barnes, director of residential research at Savills, said bringing CGT rules in line for overseas buyers was "a sensible move" and unlikely to deter overseas money from coming to London. "I don't think it will put many people off at all. It is a relatively modest tax paid only on gains – and if it erodes the case for a mansion tax it could boost the market," she said.
