Apparently site specific, Unesco, the world heritage body, had concerns the 37 storey development proposed would impact on the view to the south from the Houses of Parliament.

Eric pickles has challenges the mixed use planning consent for the shell south bank complex. could presage a different approach to consent for riverside developments. hopefully it's just site specific.

Great news today, profit as predicted by the city and forward sales of £ 1.5bn. Berkeley's seems to be contending with the planning issues in London. Happy days.

They are already going to pay 59p this month and promising another 360p within 2 years. I only paid just over £12 for mine last year so I am delighted with this level of pay out in my ISA.

Digest: Berkeley buys QVC offices
The upmarket housebuilder chaired by Tony Pidgley has bought the former head office of the QVC shopping channel in Battersea, southwest London.

Berkeley is understood to have paid £105m for Marco Polo House, a glass and marble-clad office designed by the postmodernist architect Ian Pollard in the late 1980s. It was sold by Marcus Cooper, the residential developer, who had obtained planning permission for more than 450 luxury flats. Cooper bought the property for £63m in 2006.

I'm looking forward to the TS on Monday, Berkeley seem poised to take full advantage of the south east's encouraging property interest. New properties priced from £300,000.00 to the Ebury square developments which have prices ranging from £3,000,000.00 to £24,000,000.00, Berkeley seems to be carrying very low debt which constantly surprises me, debt to equity 0.0167 (-£40,000,000.00 ish) also the directors including the wife's seem to be buying over the last couple of months, ( never read to much into directors dealings). I am staying long. DYOR.If anybody has noticed anything I'm missing please post.
