01/2/2019 21:30 | Top pick RBC hTTps://shares.teleg | davebowler
01/2/2019 17:51 | Average share buyback at an average of £5.02 which they were more than happy to pay. For me, and at current share price of 420p and rising, that is an obvious Green flag. Many Brokers are very bullish also. Not surprising imv given the exposure and opportunities to many growth sectors that Aviva enjoys. I'm confident of a much more rapid ascent post the EU dust settling etc. Long term, this share should prove to be very lucrative I believe. | redsquirrel3
01/2/2019 17:30 | Not bad 3.70 to 4.20 over a month that’s up roughly 15% . Nice slow positive clime. Hopefully continues in February | whatsup32
01/2/2019 14:07 | That was instigated in May and completed - Average price £5.02!!!! | skinny
01/2/2019 12:04 | I think they opted for the share buy back wheeze rather than a special divi? Happy to be corrected. | uppompeii
01/2/2019 11:20 | Don't think they will want to pay a special until they are clearer about the impact of the new PRA rules on capital requirements for equity release mortgages. The implementation date was pushed back from 31/12/18 to at least 31/12/19 which means another year of not being sure how much capital they need to hold to back these products. That said 22p would be very welcome! My sense is that 21p is more likely but even at that level the divvy would be up more than 10% on last year. Will certainly be reinvesting if it's still at current levels! | danielbird193
01/2/2019 10:17 | Based on Financial Calendar … Final Dividend ' Aviva AV. Announced 07/03/2019; Ex Divi 08/04/2019 ???; Paid 30/05/2019 ' Possible rate 19p ??? based on last year | togglebrush
01/2/2019 10:12 | RBC Capital markets re-iterate TOP PICK for Aviva today. Does anyone know when Final Dividend due? Am assuming some time about end of March as interim was brought forward by two months. Would happily re-invest it at these prices! | redsquirrel3
31/1/2019 13:11 | Good old SLA dragging AV. down | uppompeii
30/1/2019 19:46 | Would easily add £1 to share price if we end up remaining in EU imo (regardless of whether a new CEO is appointed by then). Also, given that AV. have good exposure to areas of growth opportunities, and an excellent and well covered and growing dividend, the future seems to be very promising IMHO. | imagining
30/1/2019 14:53 | And you rag me about Technical Terms! | bracke
30/1/2019 13:58 | Certainly seems to be bouncing nicely from last week's wobble. Much of that is just Aviva following the FTSE higher I suspect. That said it's nice to have a bit of bullish momentum for a change. Onwards to 500p! | danielbird193
30/1/2019 12:41 | Is AV. showing a cup and handle from 15th November to today?. any chartist about? ( you can tell I've been reading Bill O'Neil again over Christmas!) DYOR | azure8269
29/1/2019 17:22 | There is a bit from the FT that says (about one of the internals) He has a more buttoned-down style than Mr Wilson. “Investors want something a bit different to Mark. They want an underpromise, overdeliver kind of guy and they feel they’ve had the opposite. Actuaries don’t have the most exciting reputation but perhaps that’s what investors want now,” said Gordon Aitken, analyst at RBC Capital Markets. I feel this is rather hard on MW - most of the time on results day the share price rose quite strongly, giving the impression that he had delivered above expectation. Having said that the share price has gone nowhere over his tenure. | dr biotech
29/1/2019 16:53 | Dr Biotech - at this level the "Executive Search" agency (never "recruitment"!) are on a retainer for research services (scanning the market, identifying concept candidates, advising on remuneration). They won't get a massive payout if it goes to an internal candidate, but they will still get a decent whack. Of course the search fee pales into insignificance in comparison to the remuneration of the successful candidate, wherever they come from. | danielbird193
29/1/2019 16:27 | The Barclays fellow got £25mm because his department sold CDOs. Aviva only buy them, so no one at Aviva lives in Bishops Avenue or The Boltons. You think I’m kidding? | chucko1
29/1/2019 16:15 | Doc thanks for the article, wonder why anyone would think it a bad idea to have insiders who may go along the same road as Wilson, I thought Wilson had done a good job, no? | p0pper
29/1/2019 16:03 | Good point doc. I was just reading about Barclays man getting £25m bonus Mind boggling | whatsup32
24/1/2019 15:03 | Get it together Aviva | whatsup32
23/1/2019 19:05 | Hi azure8269 I think the the dividend is safe and is one of the best on the FSTE 100.....happy to add to my holding around these prices funds permitting. | spcecks
23/1/2019 16:06 | spcecks, As the divvy return is now so high, do you think there is any chance of the divvy being reduced? I am assuming their income comes from two sources. 1) the Insurance premiums v pay-out 2) their investment in stocks and shares etc. No 1) should be OK subject to their actuaries getting it correct. But the premiums, re-invested, might have taken a hit in the last 6 months as with us all What’s your view | azure8269
23/1/2019 16:05 | Don't worry, buywell will be back if it falls another few pence with another distressing prediction... | uppompeii |
