Barclays Capital have not changed the Target Price either of 556p. This suggests Aviva has an upside of at least 30% short-term.

Standard Life/Aberdeen merger has hardly been a rip roaring success. If Alllianz came calling I’d listen though. We need a CEO asap. I liked Wilson, but we are still rated poorly.

It's been my most consistent let down but done ok by the sheer amount I've held, I'm not sure that's a positive really...

Don't wish for a merger...

I've held this dog for 20 years. Every time there was a merger (CU, CGU, CGNU) my holding lost value.

I suppose it's worth thinking about what the catalysts for improvements in the share price might be. The two which spring to mind are (1) positive news on the appointment of a new CEO would and (2) reassurance on the full year results (due to release 7 March).

I'm considering a top up at between 460p and 470p (which would see it rising above the 200 day moving average). Hopefully it can manage that in the next month or so.

A very interesting comparison. Thanks for digging that out DB193. If the AV share price can catch up to the average of those companies, at 1.9 times book value, it would take it close to £8 - so perhaps it won't in the foreseeable future. Nevertheless, it does mean that there is plenty of growth in the share price to look forward to.
