The IT issues are, or should be, a concern to investors. Of paramount importance is the experience, talent and dedication of the team designing and managing transitional procedures to more capable platforms; any lack thereof could result in stalling or attrition of the brand and customer base. Otherwise a nice income play.

I bought after reading the H1 results, today's little dip provides a good buying opportunity in my opinion. There were some one-off headwinds in H1 but I think the outlook is strong and, in the meantime, a well-funded divi and buyback programme to keep things sweet.

Dial back the divi and find something to spend the money on that's worth doing, seems Aviva board are running out of ideas, for instance the board could look to resolve their claims faster, one of mine took two years to sort out and to say it was handled badly is being kind.

Might as well forget about it Skinny and come back at Christmas. If a 10% increase in the dividend yield to 5.8% isn't enough to move the share price that's telling me something about the attitude of the large players at the moment.

I'm happy to hold and collect the dividend.

Unless of course you are concerned that it will only bounce so many times before support gives way and you are short term trading on spreadbet rather than investing for the long term?

Canadian motor business still a drag, but we were told at the last FY that there would not be a quick fix there. Beast from the East was expected to create downside on the COR, and so it has. So really as most of the rest is as expected this is an OK set of results...

According to a commment in the FT the figures are slightly ahead of forecasts. Will be interesting to see the opening.

FH numbers expected to be offset by the 2H so FY expectations unchanged.

That's about the only highlight. EPS up but the share buy backs will have boosted that. Every other key measure seems to be down.

Hopefully they have Canada sorted out and interest rates go up. Expect a hit here because of beast from east.

Looks like a great entry point in advance of an update next week. Can anyone tell me will Aviva face a similar headwind as JUST regarding the PRU review into lifetime mortgages and impact on its regulatory position? Just Group got hammered last week and the sector appears to have de-rated accordingly (PRU, AV, JUST for example). However AV. has well flagged excess cashflow.

No - just highlighting that the 50 SMA is possibly about to the cross the 200 SMA (death cross).

The 12 month low is 482.20p

Support at around 490p seems to have held firm over the past two years or so. Are you suggesting it could break below this...?
