31/10/2024 17:43 | Gilt yields up 10% since start of October. We know this is poison to the UK market .. clearly not to the same reaction to the TRUSS chaos by any means, but the absolute level is now in the same range as mentioned by 1robbob.. I hope we dont see further critical gains tomorrow, otherwise will turn messy ...... Where is the cliff edge I wonder ?? | tornado12
31/10/2024 17:05 | Took some more this morning and have another limit order in here and at PHNX. Rachael has obviously been reading Lizz's How To Crash The Economy guide. I just wish someone would unplug the train set from the wall as they obviously don't know how to work it. spud | spud
31/10/2024 16:05 | 15 Year Gilt yields now at the same level as when 'Liz Truss crashed the economy' | 1robbob
31/10/2024 15:19 | there was no chance the market would be bullish based on this budget with 40 billion of taxes and 70 Billion of spend. I think its handled it better than expected TBH, but who knows how this will react over the next days/weeks. The US election another fear factor, but is clear any negativity in US is going to travel over the Atlantic. Suddenly Aviva seem even more of a bargain.. GLA | tornado12
31/10/2024 15:01 | 10 year gilts yields are now at 4.5% , more or less the same as where they were at the height of the fight against inflation mid 2023. They are also higher than US ten year yield at 4.28% Ordinarily on interest rates alone one might expect sterling to appreciate against the USD.However sterling is actually depreciating against the dollar right now, currently losing 0.5% at 1.29 I guess this tells us exactly what the market thinks of UK budget. Other factors are at play of course (US election next week etc), but the uk interest and currency moves are pretty revealing. | muscletrade
31/10/2024 14:18 | Everything getting slaughtered today post budget. Looked rosy for an hour or two yesterday. Maybe markets super choppy pre US election? | spawny100
31/10/2024 08:56 | Yes I am look here for sure... With results next month I still see price <460p a good investment for income. Will soon be adding. I suppose this can be considered a small positive for the active investor .. | tornado12
31/10/2024 08:52 | Several high yield bargains will be appearing thanks to these tax and spend incompetents | dope007
31/10/2024 08:47 | 10 year gilt yield 27/12/23 3.4%.... this morning 4.4% No working people were harmed in the research of these facts... | muscletrade

30/10/2024 18:30 | So we have another 12 months before her next chance to wield the wrecking ball again. I did take a wedge of the lump sum, but only to invest it in wife'sGIA, as she's a non tax payer.Easier access is about the only advantage, hey ho. | rongetsrich
