Just had an Aviva email regarding annuities

Such is the strength of their offer they will even guarantee you a minimum pay-out of 1 year, yes, that's one year should you die when taking out their product.

Honestly, who writes such compelling marketing?

Agree nerja, and like Direct Insurance shedding 550 jobs and looking to save £50 million it looks like others will be looking to achieve greater efficiency in their product services. Ms.Reeve' ideology is taking a hit and she is now looking for ideas to help growth for industry sectors. She should be looking at reducing the welfare state in a meaningful but measured and fair way and the public sector needs to be driven as a priority. Productivity is the driver for growth and I am sure that HMG is acutely aware of action needed.

AVIVA

It’s been a good year for the Aviva
AV.
0.77%
share price. The stock hit a floor in 2020, but in the last few years it has made a strong recovery. The insurance giant’s shares are up 20.16% over the last 12 months.

As inflation falls and the Bank of England continues to cut rates, Aviva will look more attractive to income seekers once savings rates and bond yields start to fall.
eyeQ’s smart machine shows the model is back in regime. Investors need to understand the big picture stuff moving the stock: lower volatility, higher growth and more risk averse investors. The stock currently sits 4.52% under eyeQ model value and the machine fired a bullish signal.

For bulls, this could be a steal and eyeQ is telling you that it is the right time to add this stock, but don’t forget to do your own research and keep on its trading update scheduled for Thursday before making a final decision.

Taken from eye a on ii

O/T - Me too and I bore my pub mates with the issue, but it hardly ever gets mentioned in the media and yet its a vast amount of money that leaves the UK.

Shame we haven’t got a government sponsored search engine to help find the huge numbers of small businesses.

Personally I try and avoid Amazon as much as I can - using them only when I have difficulty sourcing elsewhere

Shame they can't also encourage everyone to buy direct from UK suppliers instead of using US intermediaries (Amazon takes 30% of all online sales in the UK and takes a 5%-15% cut). So that's a dent in UK supplier profits.

Unfortunately many smaller businesses can't get seen on a mobile phone screen, so they end up listing with Amazon or Ebay. Only a small minority of people bother to scroll past the first few pages, but its easy enough to find the suppliers and go direct in many cases.

Forget pensions, we need to keep more money in the UK.

We're paying a subscription to live, to the US corporations.

Aviva has done really well beating the index 20.7 v 13.4
PHNX 17.5% v 13.4
LGEN +7.6 v 13.4
MNG +4.8 v 13.4

Why are we bothering with UK single stocks?

On Thursday I expect our CEO to be upbeat especially re the scale of new BPA business but warning on cost pressures.
I also expect her to use her status to warn HMG that Investment and thus Growth is being suffocated by the ballooning Public Sector
...but I could be wrong!!!
