17/5/2022 16:05 | Smurfy2001. Divi paid this Thursday 14.7p / share. However, as others have said, it depends on the provider as to when cash is added to the account. They have a small print in the conditions of up to 10 days. Some are better than others. AJ Bell are pretty on the ball but HSDL take a few days. I have a number if different ISA’s with different providers so am able to note differences 31May £1.0169 / old share | utyinv
17/5/2022 16:04 | To Smurfy2001 : payment will followe on 19th, same day as the dividend | yves65
17/5/2022 15:58 | ii haven't credited anything from AV. so far. | cassini
17/5/2022 15:58 | Just fortunate that I had sufficient cash in both accounts to buy back. I manage my wife’s account for her | utyinv
17/5/2022 15:56 | Beermat1 They have in my and the missus account. I saw a new figure this morning on HSDL. Which equates to the consolidation. Whether its a provider rule ie the record date of Friday is regarded similarly to ex div, ie 76 share for every 100. A note appears next to the new holding stating Consolidation. | utyinv
17/5/2022 15:54 | Really though, is the % of a company's value one owns a useful metric for the small investor? Surely it's what % of one's wealth is in a particular company that matters. In this case, that number has dropped as AV. have returned 24% of our capital. | cassini
17/5/2022 15:45 | Has anyone got cash in their account yet? | smurfy2001
17/5/2022 15:41 | UtyINV, fyi, no one’s original holding has changed, see my post of yesterday. Yes, cash exposure has changed, yes, number of shares has changed, but original holding has not. If you owned 1% of the company on Friday then you still own 1% of the company today. Not trying to be pedantic, but this is fundamental to your overall portfolio allocation. So if you add now you are in fact increasing your holding, relative to last week. | beermat1
17/5/2022 15:23 | I am looking to buy back in after selling my GLO and hopefully will get below 400p as that will give me about 7.8% on a 31.5p div. | scrwal
17/5/2022 15:17 | I want to recycle the B share money back into AV. but missed the 390s yesterday. Think I'll hold off and see if a dip presents this week. The chart suggests to me that we may go below 400p again this week, it's quite choppy this month. | cassini
17/5/2022 15:11 | Kenmitch, Yes the special dividend is paid on 31st May, ordinary divi paid this Thursday. As the record date for consolidation was last Friday shares showing in the Isa indicate new holding based on consolidation. I think you or someone else mentioned that come the 31st May the share price might increase as many reinvest their special divi to maintain their original holding. I have hedged against that rise by investing cash within my portfolio to buy at £3.95 yesterday, just up to the amount of my original holding. I hope it pays off. Either way, I am Long and use this stock as income generating. | utyinv
17/5/2022 14:59 | I agree. Very good. I know the divi will be in my account at 7am on Thursday. | pvi1
17/5/2022 14:53 | I've said it before, but I'll say it again. Interactive Investor. And no, I'm not on a bung! spud | spud
17/5/2022 14:33 | It may be worth those of you having dealing problems getting in touch with Aviva Investor Relations. Obviously too late to solve the immediate issues, but they have far more weight in putting a 'rocket up backsides' and getting the LSE to act. Might help minimise similar problems in the future | 1robbob
17/5/2022 14:17 | Blimey, I think I'd be moving from HSBC share trading pretty sharply then! | cwa1
17/5/2022 14:15 | Does anyone happen to know when it will be possible to buy Aviva shares through HSBC share trading platform. HSBC say trading will be suspended until consolidation completed. My holding has already been consolidated. Thanks. | prenvest
17/5/2022 13:28 | We should probably make allowances for our brokers as presumably like everyone else at the moment, they are short-handed, overworked, making mistakes, hence more people phoning to fix problems caused by their mistakes, etc., etc.. | thamestrader
17/5/2022 13:21 | Agreed. That dividendmax site was wrong on the Aviva final dividend date. It initially stated 12/17th April for XD when in fact it was actually the 7th. I've not seen it wrong before or since, but it made trading interesting when the brokers were max'd out after the new FY. | rongetsrich
17/5/2022 13:03 | Yes Rongetsrich. I thought that was what I posted but I missed out the word “by” so have edited it so that it’s correct now. I only posted because there’s so much confusion on this bb. Can’t fathom why so many rely on muddled bb posters instead of just reading the relevant updates from the Companies themselves for all the shares they hold. | kenmitch
17/5/2022 12:29 | Every Aviva update has said BY the 31st, which has also been posted before. | rongetsrich
17/5/2022 12:18 | Pay day was always by the 31st as those who’ve read Aviva updates or checked the dividend data website which I posted here, will have known. This exercise leaves investors no less or no worse off. Aviva are giving a cash payout on the one hand but they’ve reduced our stakes by the same amount. Investors wanting to keep their stakes at the same level as before this fairly pointless exercise, simply need to buy back the shares that Aviva took out of our accounts. Bearing in mind the big dividend increase and likely further increases after that, it means that the starting dividend for any new buys or top ups now gives a yield of nearly 8% and growing a bit more each year after that. So for those keen on dividends it’s well worth considering. | kenmitch

17/5/2022 11:59 | I've used a few brokers, HSDL weren't great, the gold standard was HL but too expensive... AJ Bell are a midway point, but actually improving. So far cheaper to do reinvestment through regular. | rongetsrich
17/5/2022 11:24 | When I spoke on the phone to a person at HSDL, I got, 'Well we do have up to ten days to reinvest your dividends'......no doubt getting interest on the funds just sitting there. On the website; We aim to pay dividends as soon as possible, however all payments will be paid within 10 working days of the payment date. For the majority of UK stocks we will credit the dividend to your share dealing account on the dividend payment date, this is provided we have received the payment and related documentation from the registrar. They used to be quite quick but seemed to have badly slipped the past year. | bothdavis
17/5/2022 11:08 | What date do they do reinvestments? What does the site say for divi reinvestments, or are you doing it as a regular investment to take take advantage of cheaper fees? | rongetsrich |
