09/5/2022 12:17 | Yeah good one smurfy, there is always somebody worse off than you out there!! | tuftymatt
09/5/2022 12:10 | Most shares have dropped in my portfolio this is a market wide pull back. Sell in May and go away, there's nothing unusual that l don't see every year. If you'd owned Netflix shares you'd be 70% down this year alone! Let's not talk about PayPal or Meta. | smurfy2001
09/5/2022 12:06 | Disappointing but not surprising is my take on the recent drop here. Time to bed down and come back in a month or so to see how the land lies is probably the best approach but I won't do that and will instead watch daily. Long term hold so I won't panic sell but it's still frustrating to say this consistent negative which is likely to get far worse before it gets better. | tuftymatt
09/5/2022 11:55 | love the liquidity created by day traders who don't have two pennies to rub together - roll on more margin calls | eurofox
09/5/2022 11:52 | Can't believe this has dropped circa 10% in just 3 trading days | p0pper
09/5/2022 08:16 | Cassini - thanks for explaining that to me appreciate that!Makes sense take the capital return and buy more shares... Price is till cheap and now and will probably get cheaper looking the overall stock market decline | mj19
08/5/2022 07:33 | The chart blue support line in the previous buywell post looks like getting hit in a market sell off which now seems possible and is set to hit financial stocks worse than most others in the USA buywell expects the UK to be no different Selective stock picking in safe haven sectors or safe growth sectors ( not OIL) will be the name of the game dyor | buywell3
07/5/2022 23:13 | Buywell what's that then, prey tell | scemer
07/5/2022 18:43 | Anyone Know the ownership date to benefit from the B's. | huncher
07/5/2022 18:13 | MJ19. You will have fewer shares after the share consolidation, but you will still get the same total amount of divi that you did before the consolidation, given whatever your holding was. However, you will now have money in your pocket from the AV capital return. If you take that money and buy more (consolidated) AV shares, you will also get the divi from them. Thus, for no extra outlay of money from yourself, your divi payments will have increased. As a side effect, the increased divi per share after consolidation may drive up the AV share price as well... (edit: of course if everyone tries to buy more AV shares with their capital return money the day it becomes available, the price of AV shares may rocket and no longer look like a good price, defeating the purpose of buying more. Maybe a better strategy is to buy more before the capital return cash arrives in your trading account, then just pocket the capital return cash when it comes? Who knows. Price is everything...) | cassini
07/5/2022 17:47 | Big Oz asset news imminent at CLON as early as Monday 7am. Price target....multibag. | sarcoline
07/5/2022 17:46 | Can some explain the benefit of b shares? If they give me cash and lower my share holding?I am not sure I understand | mj19
06/5/2022 12:30 | Getting these sub £4 after consolidation payment would be very useful … no brainer for future divi security unless the government blows their whistle again ! | tornado12
06/5/2022 00:47 | Long Term Chart tells an interesting Story imo free stock charts from uk.advfn.com | buywell2
05/5/2022 16:25 | I would say interest has now fizzled out. I'll be buying SOME consolidated shares next month, so the lower this goes the better. I'm purely income on this share, as it's a long term hold. | klotzak
05/5/2022 15:26 | Should Aviva investors take up the offer of free shares? It wants to pay out an extra £3.75bn to shareholders... here's what it might mean for you | smurfy2001
05/5/2022 14:43 | Financials don't seem to like yesterday's fed announcement. | cassini
05/5/2022 13:55 | Any idea why the weakness in this rising market? | buzz24
02/5/2022 17:37 | Nasdaq so far up today. Technology is the future AI , Cloud , everything is on line . Banks are closing branches as customers don’t visit , regular taxis are out in favour of Uber , shops are closing . Cars will one day drive themselves and they’ll be all electric , aircraft won’t need pilots . Have to accept even the phone in your hand is not used as a phone it’s a computer linking you to the whole world . How we invest has to reflect realities on the ground | whatsup32
02/5/2022 16:20 | Watching Buffett on CNBC today. Berkshire Hathaway shareholders meeting last weekend. It seems there is nowhere to hide from inflation and its effects. Bonds, Cash, Shares, property all suffer. We could be in for another of those crashes as seen in 1987 2003 2008 2020. Why do we soon forget? Amazing how quickly it happens. Mighty Amazon down 14% last Friday. So many once mighty shares have fallen hugely. | careful
02/5/2022 12:11 | i tend to agree andyble - it would be v out of character for the pra to just agree a cap release but nonetheless it is a great opportunity if they widen allowable assets in the MA on more macro themes i think it is underappreciated quite how much steel making capacity is in southern ukraine and a byproduct of creating oxygen needed for steel making is neon which is important in chip manufacturing. ie we are prob headed for another chip shortage soon | cjac39
02/5/2022 12:06 | Andyble I totally agree Perhaps for the first time in years the totally neglected (and much depleted!!)Insurance sector will look like a safe and profitable haven for investors In what will be difficult times for highly rated 'growth' stocks and sectors. | 1robbob
02/5/2022 11:27 | I am also beginning to wonder if the S2 saving on the risk margin will be trumped by the increase in the fundamental spread in the matching adjustment. I suppose the easing up of type of investments will help revenue but possibly with a solvency cost too. Aviva may do better than L&G and specialist annuity players. The message is not to read too much into the hype of how great the S2 changes will be, but some way to go on this yet, and may well all largely cancel out, though better for some than others. I would expect a net gain for the industry in terms of capital and opportunities but not to take for granted and perhaps not on the scale as the narrative to date. | andyble
02/5/2022 11:23 | Spud...much respect of you and your posts. We all have varying opinions over Ukraine invasion and all decent humans will hope that an end of the conflict happens sooner than later. I find the Russian Foreign Secretary Lavrov appalling in his behaviour and find his comments yesterday in a live interview with an Italian journalist on Israel/Jewish characterizations despicable. | cyberian |
