09/5/2022 16:14 | Same. I'll be absolutely delighted if I can get my divi and B share money back in below 4 quid | pvi1
09/5/2022 16:11 | The lower it goes before 13 May, the better. I want to be buying back units below 400. | mountpleasant
09/5/2022 15:58 | Thanks guys, it's only a week, so we'll know soon enough. | klotzak
09/5/2022 15:20 | The relevant words from the circular are: Depending upon the price of an Existing Ordinary Share and the number of Existing Ordinary Shares in issue shortly before the date of the General Meeting, this ratio may no longer maintain comparability of the Company’s share price before and after the implementation of the B Share Scheme. If this is the case, the Board are not obliged to but may, in its discretion, adjust the ratio as permitted under the terms of Resolution 3 to maintain, as far as possible, the comparability. If the Directors determine that these steps are to be taken, this will be made clear during the General Meeting and in addition notice will be given by issuing an announcement through the Regulatory News Service of the London Stock Exchange. | eurofox
09/5/2022 15:09 | What it shows is each of us needs to read the PDF in detail and draw one's own conclusions - don't take my word for it - so no intention to mislead, just my interpretation. | eurofox
09/5/2022 15:07 | My reading of the circular (PDF and buried deep in the detail of the text) is that the board reserves the right to adjust the ratio at the last minute to ensure that the total payout (which is fixed by an amount * the number of shares now in the market) is equally compensated for by the value withdrawn from the market (in which the variables at the time are share price * proportion of shares withdrawn). So if the share price at the time is lower, more shares have to be withdrawn (i.e. more than 24 per 100) | eurofox
09/5/2022 14:59 | I don’t think that is correct. From the circular… Page 6 - 16 May for new consolidated shares and B shares issued. The vote takes place today at 76 for 100. Many have already voted. It is 76 shares for 100, based o the ‘market capitalisation as at Monday 4 April 2022’ page 9. Eurofox May be inadvertently stating incorrect information. | ddroz
09/5/2022 14:42 | So, is it based on Monday 16th opening, or Fri 13th? Not a lot anyone can do but just wait. | klotzak
09/5/2022 13:47 | Ok, thanks for the reply. | klotzak
09/5/2022 13:39 | The lower the share price goes, a greater proportion of shares will be needed to reflect the capital being returned, so even more than 24% of shares will be deducted from holdings. The 0.76 ratio cited at the moment was merely an example of the ratio at an share price of 424p. The actual ratio to be used will be computed immediately before the event to keep the closing price as close as possible to the opening price (barring activity during the opening auction at 7.50 am). | eurofox
09/5/2022 13:05 | So... GM today and after Friday your shares lose the right to the cash return. Say, next Monday, you bought shares, you don't get the dividend and you don't get the cash return. Are we to expect trading will cease until the cash return/ consolidation is complete?I can't help but think I'm missing something as why would you buy a share that is then going to lose 24%? Or, as per the pasted bit below, does the consolidation happen on Fri 13th? Probably my bad England, but....6pm on Friday 13 May 2022 - Record time for entitlement to B Shares and Share Consolidation in respect of Existing Ordinary Shares | klotzak
09/5/2022 12:17 | Yeah good one smurfy, there is always somebody worse off than you out there!! | tuftymatt
09/5/2022 12:10 | Most shares have dropped in my portfolio this is a market wide pull back. Sell in May and go away, there's nothing unusual that l don't see every year. If you'd owned Netflix shares you'd be 70% down this year alone! Let's not talk about PayPal or Meta. | smurfy2001
09/5/2022 12:06 | Disappointing but not surprising is my take on the recent drop here. Time to bed down and come back in a month or so to see how the land lies is probably the best approach but I won't do that and will instead watch daily. Long term hold so I won't panic sell but it's still frustrating to say this consistent negative which is likely to get far worse before it gets better. | tuftymatt
09/5/2022 11:55 | love the liquidity created by day traders who don't have two pennies to rub together - roll on more margin calls | eurofox
09/5/2022 11:52 | Can't believe this has dropped circa 10% in just 3 trading days | p0pper
09/5/2022 08:16 | Cassini - thanks for explaining that to me appreciate that!Makes sense take the capital return and buy more shares... Price is till cheap and now and will probably get cheaper looking the overall stock market decline | mj19
08/5/2022 07:33 | The chart blue support line in the previous buywell post looks like getting hit in a market sell off which now seems possible and is set to hit financial stocks worse than most others in the USA buywell expects the UK to be no different Selective stock picking in safe haven sectors or safe growth sectors ( not OIL) will be the name of the game dyor | buywell3
07/5/2022 23:13 | Buywell what's that then, prey tell | scemer
07/5/2022 18:43 | Anyone Know the ownership date to benefit from the B's. | huncher
07/5/2022 18:13 | MJ19. You will have fewer shares after the share consolidation, but you will still get the same total amount of divi that you did before the consolidation, given whatever your holding was. However, you will now have money in your pocket from the AV capital return. If you take that money and buy more (consolidated) AV shares, you will also get the divi from them. Thus, for no extra outlay of money from yourself, your divi payments will have increased. As a side effect, the increased divi per share after consolidation may drive up the AV share price as well... (edit: of course if everyone tries to buy more AV shares with their capital return money the day it becomes available, the price of AV shares may rocket and no longer look like a good price, defeating the purpose of buying more. Maybe a better strategy is to buy more before the capital return cash arrives in your trading account, then just pocket the capital return cash when it comes? Who knows. Price is everything...) | cassini
