thanks salver - do you have a link you could post?

26th nov is the current estimated reporting date so i would imagine they would be very happy if this coincided with that but its so material they would have to report it the minute they signed an SPA.

does anyone know anything about change of control in France and how long that takes? for a UK insurance company its minimum 3-6months particularly a larger acqn with private equity involved

The headline reads Aviva France- La Macif,Generali et Cvc en embuscade face a Allianz et Athora.- which roughly translates as La Macif,Generaliand Cvc face off in an ambush againstAllianz and Athora

News in the French press about the imminent takeover of Aviva France ( Les Echos) it seems a few other combatants have entered the fray - should be an announcement in a week or two- couldn’t understand the article fully with my dodgy O level French!

I have been convinced that this is a cash depository for some time. Just be sure you do not have too much out when key upside news arrives.

Que - what the f does that mean?

Agreed spud such an easy trade - it’s rare I think to have something so cheap but asset backed that you can be confident adding on dips that it’s basically risk free

Yes. At this level you can store your cash and withdraw with impunity. As Monty would say, it's like an ATM with interest and an occasional dividend!spud

I think Hsbc is the best of the bank plays, most of the business in the far east, so less covid impact and if expected a Joe Biden election win it should boast chinese American relations and give HSBC a boast.

I loved all this uncertainty from a selfish POV, I got another top up below 278 & if they drop this again I think 1 more top up will do me,

I've been waiting for this opportunity & although I didn't get to buy in the 210p range I am in long term now thx MM's you have done it again. lol.

we even get a discount to what AB payed for hers,

ok you can let this rip now,

putting the chart on full timeline makes this share look pretty good entry & a PE of 5 is a bonus.

guess for the divi

16p final
8p interim
6p special
