If they sell France (assuming thats the intention) before the end of the year then I think that would be reasonably quick.

As the CEO has just bought an update on France next week would be surprising.

cjac39.
Thank you for that. Please keep us informed .

Agree it shouldn't affect Av. practicaly, but should judgment be for consumer then sentiment may be against insurers regardless of fact Aviva has little exposure.
Either way it will be good to get closure.
Hopefully update on France next week and div. Payment received

Hmm I’m not sure I’d be trusting them with proceeds. Resize the debt to a co 10-20% smaller post selling off non core but I’d like to have the rest as a special that I can reallocate to far better compounders than AV

I think AB has a better strategy that we are giving her credit for

The Far East disposal and also France by mid September should take the share price to 310p/320p

Then later in Q4 the dividend announcement for 2019 and also 2020 onwards
If she pays balance of 2019 Final and 8p 2020 interim, the income return for the next 6 months would be 7.6%...nobody has focused on that!!
Ongoing div of 24p pa we would yield 8%
Provided the market doesn't fall apart; we are 340p bound (7% yield)

Then we might trust her to re-invest some of the disposal proceeds!!!!!
That I think is ABs strategy, she is undoubtedly a realist

cjac; thanks for the Just info. I am no expert on that area so had concerns given the focused nature of the business and issues. I will add them to my list for a close look.

Surprised slightly by the price action - thought it would rise especially with the rest of the market fairly strong - I suppose a bit like the housebuilders they seem to go down on good news
