you've got global blue chips on PE of 4 and a 13-20% dividend yield ffs, most of them highly defensive which will always exist unless it is actually a Zombie apocalypse

you can get 10% cash on the latest dividend right now it goes ex-div on 23rd April, there's a lot of stocks like this at the moment paying the most enormous final dividend lol. ITV have a final divi that is 8.5% cash payout. If you need a cash payout from some stocks the dividends right now are massive compared to a bank base rate of 0.5%

I totally agree with everything you said, but insurance has no policy, sense or effect when your life depends on toilet rolls and baked beans

Unlikely eeza, insurance is one of those things everyone begrudges paying but you still wouldn’t be without it.

Maybe a few less paying their policy fees, also.

Watchdog warns insurers over cover , also insurer company states there will be less car insurer claims and I think maybe less home insured claims due to less burglary and less people going on holidays leaving property’s empty

I just wish someone would just hit aviva with an offer out the blue like 550 and destroy those shorters that would be an amazing day, you can all but dream

@Gaff

Human nature says many will claim for whatever they think they can get away with..

I have my doubts over what exactly people would be able to claim for.

You need future profits...past profits are of little interest now. The question is how badly impacted will future profits have from claims etc due to the virus....

Mcap of 8b and profit of 3b, ridiculous valuation. This was undervalued when the share price was 400p never mind now.

Well Aviva still paid the Divi in 2009 and the share price closed at 150p

WJ.

======================

Yep.. but first set of results at the 'end' of the crisis reduced the div in 2010 by 20% and then it continued to go down to roughly 50% of previous high.
