14/8/2011 20:52 | Good post Malc' | gorvachof
14/8/2011 16:42 | quite agree blackbery, but i think you know aswell as i that its the shorters posting this nonsense as its all they have to go on. As i posted the other day, we held up well last week considering the high drop in many great stocks so im sure we are somewhere near the bottom and if it drops a little more in the meantime then so be it but this company will be very successful in my opinion. | ![]() jonnib
14/8/2011 12:17 | The more important thing is that it's just pathetic that this is the best AVNs critics can do. Attacking a 50m turnover customer with some weird dodgy irrelevant balance sheet ratio analysis which is probably buying a relatively small amount anyway when AVN has over 70 customers, and the biggest, Hughes, have already used up their capacity and are buying more. It's just lame and it really doesn't matter and we should not dignify it with debate here. | ![]() blackberrydrop
12/8/2011 23:57 | The comments made by EK echo similar voices made on CNN Europe over the last week. I think EK is a more reliable tipster however both he and Winni'ofirith are playing the fool. | ![]() estienne
12/8/2011 21:48 | Totally unprofessional ! I was thinking the same Vivgav, but may still purely to get the best price on using JPJ. | ![]() yorgi
12/8/2011 21:10 | I won't be signing up for T1ps again......this spat is tedious at best. The EK articles are a waste of time and space imo and just a way to promote his own agenda.EK is so boring to listen to......I shall spend my money elsewhere when the renewal comes up. | ![]() vivgav
12/8/2011 19:58 | It looks like SC and TW are doing a bit of sparring - on the t1ps site earlier in the week SC put forward an argument for why he thought gold was heading for a drop (knowing full well that TW and the t1ps gold fund are very bullish on gold). In response TW trashed his argument and said that SC had "lost the plot" . So SC fires back with something that he knows has caused hassle for TW in the past - shorting AVN . I doubt that SC has gone short , he's just winding up TW . | colva
12/8/2011 19:57 | ...Only the results will show who is right. | ![]() someuwin
12/8/2011 19:53 | As I posted earlier I do not think SC gives a fig whether what he is publishing is correct but he is purely trying to "hit" TW. In my opinion it is doing TW, SC, t1ps or Rivington Street Holdings no credit at all. I know TW does not agree with censoring SC but they can't both be right and they should as a company resolve who is right and make this clear once and for all. What the price of gold will be in 6 weeks 6 months or a years time is an opinion and only time will tell what that will be. However whether AVN's technology works and their business plan is on course can be shown by reports analysis. From that t1ps should be putting that case forward and to have a "diarist" putting out contradicting and misleading information every few weeks months is totally unacceptable in my opinion. | ![]() yorgi

12/8/2011 19:08 | What? Cawkwell and his lackey have their Maths wrong again? Once could be descibed as unfortunate but twice starts to look rather deliberate.... | ![]() blackberrydrop
12/8/2011 18:35 | I have received this from a contact who has an interest in AVN which might help answer some questions: "It seems again that these cawkwell people are deliberately misleading about AVN. I have done some reading whilst here on holidays. Helps to be an accountant sometimes. AVN's client is a E50m business with government contracts. They have claimed it is uncreditworthy which strikes me as pretty libelous. But also its a deliberate mis reading of the company's published accounts: The suggestion that Novasoft is about 6x leveraged in Cawkwell's posting is not based on the publsihed accounts, which do not disclose interest bearing debt. Instead it is describes ALL liabilities on the balance sheet as interest bearing debt. It's almost certainly incorrect to assume that the balancing figure is all debt. It would be typical for there to be a number of other entries in the Long Term Liabilities as with any other company in the World. Other Spanish companies report under Long Term Liabilities items that do not count as debt including: · Grants and other deferred income · Long term provisions · Preference Shares · Deferred tax liabilities · Pension liabilities As a respected company with many government relationships, the amount of Grants and deferred income could be substantial alone. If the company was weak, it wouldn't be posting its figures on the website" | ![]() yorgi
12/8/2011 16:12 | I have looked at the Novasoft numbers (with the help of google translate). I can see EBITDA of c.6m but I can't see any net debt numbers of 6 times that amount anywhere?? The 2010 numbers seem to show a net equity position (and growing). | ![]() geheimnis2
12/8/2011 16:03 | EK today... "I also disagree with QUID in the matter of Avanti Communications* (AVN) which I sold short yesterday at 312p pursuant to the announcement that it had done a deal with Novasoft. My reason is that my contact remarks that the contract announcement concerning Novasoft should be carefully scrutinised. As it happens, Novasoft, are kind enough to publish financial results on their website ( These imply that the company's net debt is equivalent to about 6 times EBITDA, which seems very high for a consultancy business - with obvious bad debt risk implications for Avanti. The contact also advises that very recently he encountered Access Intelligence* (ACC), a new customer that Avanti announced back in December. Access confirmed that to date they have generated no revenue from this relationship. This raises the question as to how many other announcements from Avanti mean real money. Shades of Pursuit Dynamics perhaps. My contact was thinking of covering his short but noted that he is not so far impressed by the timing of director buys; he rather shares my view that directors can come to enjoy drinking their own whisky." | ![]() someuwin
12/8/2011 15:52 | I would say that the shorters are winning again regardless of the facts. Even at this low price buyers are not going to be enough facing strong short attack in this market. | ![]() yorgi
12/8/2011 15:51 | GM, In answer to your question, I am invested in Avanti and I do believe it has potential. However, i object strongly to the hype given by TW who seems to have bolstered it beyond reason and without concern for the PI's he is supposed to be helping. There are plenty of other cases in which winnifirith pushed PI's to buy shares belonging to his corporate clients, these shares then slumped disasterously. | ![]() estienne

12/8/2011 15:19 | can anyone post the latest nonsense that SC is coming up with? | ![]() geheimnis2
12/8/2011 15:15 | I'm inclined to agree with you Blackberry.......so why don't you make the complaint yourself.....you would have pretty strong support from most on this BB. I have never agreed with shorting and that goes way back from before AVN being shorted. Nobody has convinced me that it is the best interest of the market at all. As for SC he was putting out incorrect/flawed/unt | ![]() yorgi
