28/7/2011 12:46 | I don't usually bother to watch youtube video clips, and now I know why. That was dreadful. And not particularly conclusive (unless it got better later on!). | ![]() b1ggles
28/7/2011 12:31 | markets usually work ahead, its been heading towards profitablity ever since it launched H1, you wont be able to buy at these levels at the time they are making a profit. At the end of the day we are down here becuase of USA Debt ceiling agreement.... | divinausa1
28/7/2011 11:42 | ARGY2 the is a mixture of CGT tricks and profit taking to be observed in the directors buys / sell. THe point is a great deal of high value purchases have been made buy directors of a senior level - why would they do that if they think the product / company is poor? Anaylists all say the forward PE is very high, but that does not surprise me as it is hardware company in high tech, it is loss making. So I expect the share price to continue to drop where I do not know, but as it heads towards profitibility is the time to pounce | ![]() matthew palmer
28/7/2011 11:37 | I'm watching cognitive radio technology, Good stuff it seems. Still waiting for my FUM news, we all have setbacks it seems. But you can only balme the market for so long. | ![]() superg1

27/7/2011 22:04 | That video is on youtube, I messaged the "lad?" a couple of months ago. The review was pre Hylas 1, although he said he planned to do an update once he was migrated. | gorvachof
27/7/2011 20:55 | I did some calculations Backmarker and came up with 7mins 30secs extended life so one of us must be wrong :-) I agree with your double bottom and to add more flesh on it, it is double pointed quick rise bottom :-) but I'm no chartist ! | ![]() yorgi
27/7/2011 20:42 | I was watching that Journey to the Centre of the Earth programme. apparently the Japanese earthquake has caused the earth to move an inch off its axis - or something similar. I was wondering if that had any impact on Hylas-1's orbit and whether they will need to correct it. if so, maybe it will shorten its useful life by 10 mins. maybe that's why the share price has been weak. =========== further to my earlier post. the reverse head-and-shoulders didn't happen. so we're now looking for a double bottom !!! glta | ![]() backmarker
27/7/2011 20:12 | The earlier critic of the service was pre Hylas 1 and the faster speeds, so nice try at a bash. | ![]() waterloo01
27/7/2011 19:31 | yes, lets wait for facts and figures, AVN is following the market at present, once US sorts itself out AVN should go back to £6/7,there is no problem with Hylas 1, and I still think AVN will deliver.....but please DYOR....as always ;0/ RHPS....well....betw | giovannina
27/7/2011 19:05 | superg1....try another one....and I suggest u close your short... ;o) | giovannina
27/7/2011 18:45 | The FAQ section on the Avanti site says it all reall Does the weather affect your satellite broadband? In severe weather conditions, your connection can be affected. This is due to the weakening of the satellite signal as it passes through raindrops, fog, heavy cloud cover or high winds. Rain scatters transmission and absorbs energy from the signal lowering the signal level of your broadband service. Why does satellite broadband have increased latency? Every time a satellite broadband subscriber sends a command to fetch a Web page, the request must travel 22,300 miles (35,738 km) to a satellite in geostationary orbit. From there, the signal travels another 22,300 miles back to earth, to the satellite service provider, where it is routed to the internet, data is exchanged, and is then sent 22,300 miles back to the satellite. Once the satellite receives the information, the page data must travel the final 22,300 miles back to the user. The average latency is 500-700 ms and this unavoidable 'delay' can affect performance on some multiplayer online games. Why is my Avanti broadband slower than a normal ADSL connection? Avanti broadband is a satellite broadband service and therefore is supplied by a signal from a satellite. The latency (refer to latency FAQ) of a satellite connection will decrease the speed of browsing on this technology, whereas normal ADSL connections are cabled directly to your home and therefore have minimal latency. What is the average browsing speed for my Avanti broadband service? The average browsing speed for a satellite broadband service is 10 seconds for a low content site like www.google.com. But for larger websites with high content, for example www.bbc.co.uk, it can take up to 20-25 seconds to load completely. Will Avanti support wireless routers? No, any equipment that isn't supplied by Avanti is not supported. We will not troubleshoot or supply configuration for your internal network. Please note that you will be required to remove this additional equipment when calling our Customer Support Team for any testing in relation to your broadband service. Will VoIP (Skype) work on your satellite broadband? VoIP products such as Skype are not currently promoted or supported by Avanti. As such, you are welcome to use VoIP but there is no guarantee that it will be successful. To maximise your ability to use this software you can connect directly to the terminal and use the software in non-peak times. Can Avanti host my website? No, website hosting is not offered by Avanti. So for the frequently asked questions, it's a great sales pitch. NOT | ![]() superg1
27/7/2011 18:21 | Hey at last I found an Avanti customer. Here's their comment and video Avanti Communications are conning people and give the slowest speeds imaginable. I am making this video to support people in rural areas who can't get fibre optic or even decent broadband. I am also hoping Watchdog will put this on TV because the message MUST be spread. Tell ALL of your friends and relatives about this video, give people links to this video and show everyone how much of a rip off Avanti Communcations are. This is not my opinion but clearly an SC recruit no doubt. lol | ![]() superg1

27/7/2011 14:56 | Matthew, Have you looked at the list of major shareholders ? If you do you will see large percentage are held by institutions/funds. | ![]() yorgi
27/7/2011 14:45 | divinausa1 I agree with you about the large amount of D buying as for the £3 price target what if it bottoms at 3.25? who knows. I think the thing to look at is the basic fact it is loss making and until the institutions see anything else, it is not worth touching | ![]() matthew palmer
27/7/2011 12:50 | well guys, I do have a reasonable holding, 5500 shares to be exact amd from 168p up to 590p purchases, just at breakeven currently having seen a 17k or so paper profit wither away. I didn't sell as the price dropped back from over 750p, I thought the underlying prospects would win through and like a lot of others, I suspect, the view was clearly that, once the launch was confirmed as a success and the X box was in service, things would continue to strengthen. It has gone the other way and we languish at below the pre launch price, maybe Hylas II will change all that, the fact is that contract wins and the value of them, even with the satellite fully sold, do not seem to support anything above 450p-500p or so. thats all! | chrissey
27/7/2011 12:38 | and some well over £5 | divinausa1
27/7/2011 12:36 | and back in March they were buying well over £4 a share | divinausa1
