Surely if you are talking about the "value of the buys",then it stands to reason that the "value" of the sells would of course be higher as the sales were made when the share price was at record levels and by defnition the buys would be at a lower value because they were made when the share price was much lower.
Sell high and buy low,n`est pas?

hi mary, not seeking to muck rake, just point out that despite all the director buying, the value of buys is little over 2mil, whilst all selling has resulted in over 5m taken out of market.

not new to the thread, been here since 2010 at least and owned the shares several times. i think the mgt do a dis-favour to this share, but keep it on watch because i think it might eventually have inherent potential..

I took up Rimmy's kind offer of sending on his figures, but I have to agree with you. Any figures can be made to look detrimental by spurious presentation if that is the intention.

thanks - but my point is different. We are all aware of the big director sales at 700p odd, and that the have benn castigated here and elsewhere for those sales.. more recently they've all been buying shares (much of those at higher levels than todays price).

I don't know if you're trying to muck rake, or whether you are new(ish) to the name but the picture is not as clear as pure 'net position' start numbers can imply.

To take a parallel - pretty much any company has net director sales by value, if you go far back enough - especially if the co. does well - that's the point of shares as compensation !

rimmy2000 -

sadly I don't subscribe to it (and can't work out how to get Bloomberg to break it down) however I suspect the impression the numbers give are rather different if you look over a 3 and 2 and 1 year period, no ?
