07/1/2013 12:36 | Re updates / interims - I noted from another site (though I can't actually find it now) as follows: Interims feb 4 2013. Theoretically (inc Depreciation) the results should mark the bottom of U curve and thereafter predictable profitability increasing progressively thereafter. | johncsimpson
07/1/2013 12:25 | Are we not expecting a 6 month to Dec 31 update at the beginning of Feb? | ![]() hpcg
07/1/2013 11:19 | Not expecting one. There was an Interim Management Statement in May and trading update in July but nothing regular appears to have been set up. They confirmed at the AGM in November that they were continuing to add an average of £10m per month onto backlog to meet targets to fill satellites on time and in the absence of any new statements, I'm assuming that they're continuing to do so. | ![]() aa29
07/1/2013 10:53 | I seem to remember Avanti saying they were moving to quarterly reporting but can't find the reference. Are we due an update this week? | piadda
07/1/2013 09:31 | LOL! You've got to love the 'Scottish' perspective! "Avanti Communications is now poised for take off as it makes use of a second launch to expand its services in Africa and the Middle East after developing a niche in supplying out-of-the-way areas in Scotland and Europe." Yep, they put Hylas 1 up there for the Scots. 8-) | ![]() jeffian
06/1/2013 21:10 | Thanks Divinausa1 - interesting to see if Webb can turn them around, he has a good pedigree | peterwaller395
05/1/2013 23:08 | 2350220 Hi John Just to add, you weren't the only one to put a stack with TWs tips. I did similar and put £10k into RIVP and more into VAGM and AVN not to mention others, just like you I'm sitting on ridiculous losses but hey oh AVN WILL COME GOOD ONE DAY won't it? Here's hoping but one thing is for sure, TW is despicable in my opinion. | peterwaller395
05/1/2013 17:17 | Has any other investor received an invitation to the Innovators & Investors forum on the 29th January, which is being held at the Business Decision Centre in London. AVN is participating, and is being organised by Share Magazine/Cenkos Securities. | ![]() packman8
04/1/2013 22:49 | I was very suspicious of the way in which he tipped shares that were clients of Rivington Street Holdings of which he was a director. I believe that this was totally unethical. | ![]() estienne
04/1/2013 22:09 | Its all very quiet. Avanti is not currently in the "good books" with some, and not without good reason. However I suspect one way or another things may soon be about to get a little louder. Worth being cautious imo. | gorvachof
04/1/2013 16:04 | I trusted Tom W for a long while, especially when the two funds I bought into went shooting up. The Smaller Companies one went up by 40% and the Gold fund went up over 100% within the year. Then bam!! They tanked and pretty well everything Tom has been involved with has tanked too, such as Nexus, Vatukoula, Avanti etc. I'm down many thousands of pounds in my SIPP and ISA. Stupidly I also bought into Rivington St and the other one he had, and they promptly lost 90% of their value in about a year. Fortunately only a Grand a piece. For one company to go bang would be a shame. For two or three to go so badly wrong, one could say it might have been a bit of bad luck. but for so much to go belly up, well what can one say?? I bought in to these, mainly because Tom gave such well reasoned arguments, seemed tireless in his research and mostly because he said that he had invested most of his own money in the funds and the various other small outfits which he tipped. If he has, then he must be smarting as much as me. But I wonder if he ever reduced his holdings before they all dived to the bottom of the ocean. As a result, I won't be too enthusiastic to sign up for more tips, paid for or free. Yours, John | ![]() 2350220

04/1/2013 12:20 | re; Has anyone signed up to the free sharetip? Is there a catch? Is there a catch? well if you invest 10,000£ youll probably be advised to hold for say 6 years, and then keep buying while it drops... then give up and walk away with 1000£ | jennis2002

04/1/2013 11:49 | The idea of a share tipping service from an investors point of view is to make money. That share tipping service is designed to make money for someone and it isn't the investor. | ![]() sg31
04/1/2013 11:44 | Somehow I doubt anyone who has followed him over the last couple of years would sign up Polythene but I could be wrong. | ![]() yorgi
