30/1/2012 17:57 | Good to see your still here John, I'm sure it's not your fault.....more likely mine I bought a few more on Friday with a "gut feeling" it was about to turn.....however ! Surely 2012 has got to be better than 2011 and not just for AVN. Apart from AVN this year has is not looking to bad for me but 2011 was horrendous. Regards David | ![]() yorgi
30/1/2012 17:44 | Hi Yorgi, I'm still here . . . that might be the problem! I lost a packet on my S/Bs but still have a core holding in my SIPP. So that must be what's holding the price down, judging by my share picking abilities, or lack of. Let's hope for a better 2012. John | ![]() 2350220

30/1/2012 15:19 | Aye, but it's not done 'em much good so far! I'm certainly looking forward to getting a firm date for Hylas2 launch. Countdown to take-off should provide a bit of impetus to the share price. | ![]() jeffian

28/1/2012 17:27 | Whats 2/3 satellites in orbit worth, with the reach to serve servicing millions of people, who desperatly need affordable/dependabl If you think its 245m........then you need a check up. This company is the ideal addition to a mid/large telecom play who are all dripping in cash right now. DYOR. November 2011 Avanti's accounts showed that net tangible assets at the year end were £225.7 million, which at 283.375p, capitalising the company at £240.9 million, means the shares currently trade at a crazy price given Avanti's obvious growth prospects. It is not difficult to explain then why, following the results, the key management stepped in and snapped up a bunch of stock (again!) given that the five year business plan is poised to deliver as forecast. Our view is that, as a result of the speed of growth in the global telecoms market, demand for the company's products is only set to grow. With a valuation of 420p attributable to just the value locked within HYLAS 1, the company is evidently undervalued. Looking at all 3 satellites we remain of the view that 1400p (at the very minimum) is a fair price. | ![]() volvo

27/1/2012 20:46 | Well,at £15,you`re looking at a bid of 1.25 BILLION pounds. Not exactly loose change, highly unlikely but would certainly be welcome! | blue forever

27/1/2012 18:22 | Why would someone pay £15 for a company who's shares are sub £3. Nice thought though. | ![]() sg31
27/1/2012 17:36 | Bought 20k shares today at 291p. There was a seller, otherwise would normally struggle. Each and every fund rebalances its funds according to redemptions etc, or maybe something else!!!!!!. Well chuffed. The word is the launch in May/June will be transformational.... Yes word is AVN is on the radar and being looked at right now, that might explain why the shares were available as the stock is being held sub 300p. Why wouldn't it be bought out, satelites are the future, not the past. DS says £23, would settle for £15 lol. | ![]() volvo
27/1/2012 16:55 | IG Index now has a section called Insight. Avanti is in the top 5 for open orders of the 16 UK companies in the Telecom services sector. Each has a sort of pie chart indicating IG clients' positions with Avanti currently in as 100% long. Inmarsat by comparison is 81% long. With the history of shorting over the last year, 100% long is a bit of a surprise - there are no details however how they get to their figures. | ![]() aa29

25/1/2012 12:00 | BIGFELLA David Williams' confidence in his business plan shone through at the AGM in November. His latest quote (4 Jan) is (IIRC) the most bullish I've seen announced : "We are now just a few months away from the launch of HYLAS 2 and I am pleased to note the capacity is selling well. Several beams are already close to full saturation and others are fully optioned. The attractive demand growth characteristics in the Middle East and Africa in all segments combined with a benign macro-economic environment gives us great confidence that this satellite will sell out well within our five year target." Another snippet from the AGM was that business was being concluded at Avanti pricing, they don't need to offer discounts. For me, all this outweighs a drifting share price. | ![]() aa29
25/1/2012 11:50 | I have to be honest I have not been watching closely recently Waterloo so I wouldn't like to say. What I have observed which I have found a little hard to understand is how it seems so rudderless at the moment. However at saying that as long as our expectations are shown in the results when released we should see a big improvement then. I don't see them going any lower but I have thought that before. I was hoping they stay here a bit longer to be honest as I am looking to try and find funds from elsewhere to add when I can. | ![]() yorgi
